[SOLVED] ReadyNAS Duo, XBMC and NFS

Hi all

I'm new to this and have searched the internet for a helpfull guide with no luck :(

I want to access the media files on my readynas duo through XBMC. First I attempted to use the UPnP streaming service bit found that it creates a problem with the library due to the way files urls are handled. Then I used SMB for a while but find it creates a bit of lag and doesn't work correctly with HD movies, on the XBMC website they suggest to use NFS instead, and now I need help :)

I activated NFS in the ReadyNas Frontview, then I have set the NFS access to read/write for the correct share (again through Frontview).

I know the IP adress but whenever I try to add it as a source in XBMC it comes up with a "cannot connect error".

Ís my path right? "nfs://IP/media/movies" (the share is "media" and the subfolder is "movies")

What am I missing?

  • Figured it out, had to change to the latest nightly build of XBMC for it to work.
