The capture didn't reveal anything exciting... I think SEP is just being too sensitive.

Have you checked with SEP about this? You could actually be right about it being too sensitive.

Symantec already points out that It is not unknown for legitimate software to act in a way which triggers this event.
Though maybe they are open to re-tuning their rules when customers run into legitmate software/products that trigger them.
