Yes dual boot but on 2 distinct HDD.
In ubuntu i use the Gui.
to connect to the NAS
1 I brower the network folder
2 I select my Nas
3 I connect with the folder I want and click connect anonymously
4 I pick a file or a folder.
I am not mounting the Nas share automatically I do it with the procedure above.
I am a dumbass so don'ty want to screw my config.
Thanks al lot!

I believe you are using Nautilus.
On the NAS, what protocols are enabled for the share?
- aalexandrebetaJun 01, 2016Master
for the protocols all are enabled appart of Itune, SSH, SNMP, and antivirus.
And Nautilus is installed. But do not know if I use it I use the file browser integrated with ubuntu. Sorry for being such a dummy!

So one puzzle here is that I can't tell how you are accessing the files. If you are using FTP (for instance) with ubunto then that could explain the discrepancy. You could try turning everything off but SMB for one of the shares, and see if the speed changes.
But if you are using SMB, it clearly is something with Ubunto, since the same setup works fine with Win7. Do you have a second Windows PC? If so, you could set up another share there, and compare speeds on ubunto/win7

My father win7 32 used to transfer at 100 peak, i'll try with a spare HDD with dual boot!
Thanks for the help I'll try your method!

StephenB do you know how to unlock speed limitation on Ubuntu?
Sorry, for the delay I had to deal with a ligthning strike at home, that damaged pretty bad TV, fridge and so on, not my devices due to UPS protection!
It's an ugly smell the burnt electronics!

I'm glad the UPS did its job. I know a couple of folks who lost all their electronics due to lightning. FWIW, it can propogate through LAN and coax wiring, not just power.

I don't, but perhaps some other folks here will have some suggestions.
