Can A6210 do Wake on Lan?

Hello everyone, I am new so please don't tease me on asking stupid question :smileylol:

I am currently trying to use a function Wake on Lan for A6210 USB Wifi Adapter to my computer by sending singal from ASUS RT-N56U Router since I would like to do remote control for the computer. However, it is in vain since:

1. When the computer is switched off or running on sleep mode, the USB ports don't draw any power from my computer

2. When I looked for Device manager -> Network adapters -> NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB3.0 Adapter -> Power Management for my computer, "Allow this device to wake the computer" was greyed out and I could not check this option. This also applies for Device manager -> Universal Serial Bus controllers -> USB Root Hub & Device manager -> Universal Serial Bus controllers -> Intel (R) USB 3.0 Root Hub

My question is, it is possible to do Wake on Lan for my computer by wifi adapter? If yes, how can I fix the 2 problems above and should I do anything afterwards? If no, can anyone suggest me a way to do wake on lan apart from connecting router and ethernet port by lan cable?

I have tried the solutions mentioned by the websites https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee851581(v=ws.10).aspx and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2740020 but I was having no luck :smileysad:

My botherboard is ASUS H170 Pro Gaming and I am using Windows 7 for your information. Thanks for help!

    Hi peterkung543,

It is not possible to do Wake on LAN as I have mentioned that Wake on LAN is for Wired adapters.

    Hi peterkung543,

For my understanding Wake on LAN feature is applicable to Wired connection that is why it is grayed out in the properties of the wireless adapter.

      Thank you for your answer.

However, I just tried this adapter on another desktop computer which is running Windows10 and found that the second option (Allow this device to wake the computer) was not greyed out after selecting the first option (Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power). The third option (Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer) still could not be chosen. For this situation, is it possible to do wake on lan? Many thanks!
