Which xfinity router?
What actual extender do you have? you listed the d6000 which is a dsl modem/router.
Whats the firmware on the extender?
Extenders will connect to most consumer routers. They're designed that way. it might take some fiddline or using the manual setup method but you should be able to get it to connect.
What errors/problems are you having? A better description of where its failing can help us to help you.
You can get the manual, firmware, troubleshooting, and even videos of installing on the support site for your device.
go to netgear.com/support/ and type in your model number. It'll have all that info.

My Router is an Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz#2. Netgear technical conuld not connect my AC750 and suggested I either contact Intel to see what extender might connect or to try a more advanced extender. I am still waiting to hear from Intel.

The intel 9560 is a wireless card. Not an extender and not a router.
You can visit intel and update your drives for whatever device you have using this wireless chipset. Intel's earlier drives struggled a bit and had issues seeing many networks.
If you want help
1. look at your xifinity box. What model is it?
2. What device are you connecting that has the intel wifi chipset in it?
3. What firmware is on your extender?
Where is it failing?
Are you failing to see the extenders wifi broadcast?
Are you connecting to the extender but the extender isn't seeing the router's wifi?
Is it the password thats failing?
A better desciption of whats going on and what exact devices you're using can help us to help you.
