After EX2700 setup, laptop will only connect to extender but no longer to router

As part of my EX2700 setup, I connected my Windows 10 laptop to the extender which worked fine. However it will now not connect to the original router, only the extender - 'can't connect to this network'. Both networks appear in the list of available networks & have 'Connect Automatically' selected. Thanks for any help you are able to provide.

Hi Woodsy100, welcome to the community! You can try forgetting the main wireless network/router on the Windows 10 laptop and reconnect to it using its password.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, but unfortunately it hasn't worked. I also tried forgetting both the main network & then extender and then connecting to the main router but again it hasn't worked.

Hi Woodsy100, what error are you getting when trying to connect back to the main router? Do you have other devices that can connect to the main router using the same password? Have you tried changing the wireless settings of the router (channel, mode, password)?

Thanks for the further comment DexterJB . All our other devices are still connected to the router. It is only that laptop that I connected to the extender during the extender setup process that will no longer connect to the router. The error message is "can't connect to this network". I haven't changed any settings on the router yet. I haven't tried connecting any other devices wirelessly to the extender, as I really only need the ethernet port for a cctv recorder.
