Can 5GHZ band be disabled

I installed my EX6100 extende and it's working okay.  By default it sets up 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ networks.  Can I delete or disable the 5GHZ band?  I prefer to have less WiFi signals showing up,  causing confusion to my family and guests when they connect.  Thanks!

  • It's probably not possible to completely disable the 5 GHz network.  You can always give it a name that discourages its use.  For example, "DoNotUse".

That said, when it works, 5 GHz is very fast.  Very few people use it compared to 2.4 GHz, so there is less congestion.  It would be a shame to not take advantage of it.
