Can´t connect to the Netgear Extender WN2000PRTv2

Using the instructions that came with my netgear extender and the instructions on the netgear site on-line, I am unable to connect to the extender. I can see it as a wifi connection and enter my password which I inderstand is the same as my router password. I keep getting the following: Nework Connection Error,. Failed to connect to networks NETGEAR15_EXT: Bad password.

 

I bought this extender in March of 2014 and have not yet been able to connect to it with a PC, tablet, or smartphone. 

 

My router is Netgear too. I'm using the original password that came with the router.

    Hi cookson97267,

     

    Press and hold the Restore Factory Settings button on the rear panel for 7 seconds.

    The extender resets, and returns to its factory settings.

     

    Connect an ethernet cord from your computer to the WN2000RPTv2

    Then open up a web browser and go to mywifiext.net

    See page 10 of 33 and follow the Setup Wizard.
