EX6120 poor router connection/won't factory reset

Hi

 

Am currently sat in a queue to Netgear phone support been waiting 1hr 45 mins, I spoke to one man who said he would put me through to correct person, 45 mins ago... Basically given up. 

Our wifi before buying the Netgear product worked but couldnt use wifi in garden or bathroom upstairs. Bought this set it up and all lights green, however after so long will go onto red light for the router, have moved to different locations in the house all fairly close to router but same thing happens. The wifi on ours phones/laptop then goes really slow or just wont work at all and have to connect straight to the router. I tried to do a factory reset on the Netgear product but it wont work. I have also updated firmware but no change? I bought it on Amazon and on their it says speak to Netgear for support but thats proving...impossible. Any ideas? :)

    When doing the factory reset are you holding the reset button for 10+seconds?
