EX6150 Range Extender not improving speed

Finally got this range extender working on the 5Ghz channel (took awhile to troubleshoot).

When I'm sitting next to the router, connected directly to the router, I get about 500 mbs up/down.

In my bedroom (opposite side of the house) when connected to the router I get about 50 mbs up/down. I have about 2 bars in the bedroom.

Now with the range extender right outside the bedroom (light on the front is full green), when connected to that I get about 75 mbs up/down. I have full bars on the range extender (unlike two on the router). The box says it can extend speeds up to 1200 mbs.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? If I'm only gaining 20 mbs from this thing it's not worth 100 dollars.

    Hello Drwookie

Try to move the extender a closer to the router you want it to be in the center of the router and where you are wanting to connect you wifi devices also you can try to adjust the wireless channels on your router to see if you can get a better signal.
