I had to reboot the device and after all the lights stopped flashing only the 2.4g light remains on. I've turned it off and back on a few times and get the same results.
It's less than 3 years old and is out of warranty. Is there a fix for this?

Did you try hardwiring a pc/laptop into it to see if you can go through setup on it again?

Re: EX8000 – AC3000 Nighthawk X6S Tri Band WiFi Mesh Extender
simply plug an ethernet wire into the extender and into a laptop/pc. Disable the pc/laptops wifi so it doesn't default to that.
Then try to access the extender

Re: EX8000 – AC3000 Nighthawk X6S Tri Band WiFi Mesh Extender
When you factory reset, it should set the extender back to its default ip address of 192.168.1.250
Is that the address you were using to try to connect?
When you reset, did you push and hold for 7-15 seconds while powered on?

Re: EX8000 – AC3000 Nighthawk X6S Tri Band WiFi Mesh Extender
I did hold the reset in for about 20 seconds. The led on the back flashed red.
As for the ip address when connected to NETGEAR_EXT, the preferences show192.168.1.128.
I tried the mywifiext . net or the ip address and the results were the same. The site couldn't be reached mywifiex t. net or 192.168.1.128 refused connection.
Again, I am on macOS.
I really do appreciate the help.

Re: EX8000 – AC3000 Nighthawk X6S Tri Band WiFi Mesh Extender
Have you tried a different computer and/or browser?
if devices are connecting and it gets an IP address, its functioning so its to figure out why its not letting you access it.
are you setting it up using wps after the reset? otherwise it wouldn't connect to the router and be issued and IP address

You have been a tremendous help in making me understand that I am not smarter than the equipment.
Turns out, the Ethernet cable I connected to the extender was not connected to the computer.
LSS, I have the extender back up and running.
I appreciate your patience and understanding. Kudos to you for helping.
