Ex 7000 working well as AP but genie incorrectly reports no internet connection
I installed the EX7000 as an access point hardwired to my router. It has the lastest firmware. All is working well, but there are two odd things.
1. In windows 10, when I right hand click on EX7000 (gateway) in windows network and tell it to connect to the device web page, it tries to send me to : http://192.168.1.137:5000/upnp.gif. That wont't connect. If I remove the suffix and go to http://192.168.1.137, then I can connect and sign on.
2. Once signed on, all looks as should be EXCEPT that the netgear Genie has a big red X telling me I am not connected to the internet. This is not true. Not only am I connected, but my speeds are great and all is functioning well.
Any idea why these two anomalies are present?
Thanks
I emailed netgear and got a rapid response.
they sent me a beta firmware which fixed the problem.
all is well, and despite what some say to the contrary, support was excellent

Hello BigBamboo
Seems like a minor bug it is having with the main router you could try to assign the extender a static Ip and see if that changes that behavior.
