I Need Help Getting My Netgear Extender Model EX6200 To Work

Note 1: My router does have a WPS button. (Windstream Wi-Fi Modem – T3200)

Note 2: My extender is located approximately 6 feet from my router.

Note 3: My router supports both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ bands.

Here is my experience:

1) Attached the antennas. So far, no problem. :-)

2) Powered on my Extender: All lights are on “green”; 2.4 GHZ, 5 GHZ, Up & Down Arrows, Numbers 1 - 5 and something that looks like a pitchfork.  After just a few seconds all lights go off except the 2.4 GHZ, the 5 GHZ and the Up & Down Arrows which are now “amber color”.

3)  Pressed the WPS button on the Extender. All lights (2.4 GHZ, 5 GHZ and the Up & Down Arrows) begin to blink green.

4) Within 2 minutes I pressed the WPS button on my router.  The lights continued to blink green while I gave it 2 minutes to connect.  After the approximately 2 minutes, the lights stopped blinking and stayed on green for a few more seconds and then the only light that stayed on is the 5 GHZ light.  It is still green.

Note 4: I have gone through this process many times.  Each time the 5 GHZ light is the only light that remained on after the process.

Note 5: I noticed that at the end of step one, the “white” light in the word “Netgear” begins to blink on and off.  This is not mentioned in any instructions I have read either online or that came with the device.

I appreciate anyone who can help me get this device working.  Thanks.  mw

don't use wps. it doesn't always get codedt he same and ISP supplied devices are notorious for this.

try installing it using the installation assistant. Factory reset the extender (push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds), then try the assistant
