My extender stopped working all of a sudden

Hi!

I've been using a WN3000RP wi-fi extender for the last year or so and it's worked perfectly. Today however it stopped working.

I've done a factory reset and it was no problem for the extender to find the router's network and it marked the signal strength of the routers network to 50%. I can connect my units to the extender also without problems. The extender just doesn't "receive" any internet from the router. The router has internet and my main network work just fine.

When i try to connect my phone to the extender it wants me to log in to the network and when i try to do that it says {"reset": "1"}.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

what router is it connected to?

What method of setup did you uses? WPS, using the app, or using the installation assistant?

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

The router it's connected to is a Sagemcom Fast5370e.

I used the assistant on mywifiext. net.

When I log into mywifiext. net it says that it cant connect to the Existing Network. I've also tried to move the extender closer to the router without success.

Some of my translastions might be wrong since I use it in swedish.

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

I have a passionate hatred for sagemcom devices. We see all kinds of issues on them.

You can try setting it up using wps. Sometimes that works when the installation assistant struggles.

It's just wierd since it has been working perfectly for a year.

Also what does the {"reset": "1"} means. I've seen it in a few threads here but no solution for it.

Ah, if that's the case your hatred makes sense 🙂

I linked a picture of the code.

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

was trying to check that models forums for issues with adding extenders but sadly its all in different languages. Tough to peruse through and find any tips/tricks for that model router.

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

I don't know what firmware and I can't find it on mywifiext. com

I will factory reset it again and try to connect it using wps.

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

Yeah, I understand it's hard when it's the wrong language. 😛

I wasn't successful in connecting it using WPS. I've sent a mail to Sagemcom about any possible update that might have interfered with the extender/router relationship.

I found the firmware on the extender and it is V1.0.2.80.

I appreciate your help man 🙂

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

You must have the v3 based off that firmware.

There's a newer firmware version you could try.

Re: My extender stopped working all of a sudden

I was in contact with the Netgear support in Sweden and after some testing it became apparent that my extender is a faulty device. So I'll be getting a new one on warranty.

Thanks for the help once again, 🙂
