Netgear Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 - slow wifi with 1 GB service?
I just got 1 GB fiber internet service today, and all of a sudden my wifi speeds have become inconsistent! I was previously getting speeds routinely in the 400-550Mbps range.
Now while in the -same room- as the router (using multiple devices), I will get anything from 600 Mbps down to 149 Mbps download speed, with 8-14 ms ping. (The router reports 901 Mbps speed via the Nighthawk app, and I'm afraid to go upstairs to test the speeds there if it's this bad downstairs).
Nighthawk App v 2.31.0.3304MR60 Router Firmware v1.1.7.134
Last speedtest: 939.39 Mbps download / 588.28 Mbps upload. Ping 8 ms.
Signal strength is -27dBm.
The 5Ghz channel is 153, and the # of networks is "4 / Average".
Should I move it to another channel? Channel 1 seems to always be a # of 1 or a 2.

A couple things.
1. What mesh system do you have? Theres a ton of versions. Model number helps
2. What firmware is on the router and satellites?
3. what gateway is it connected to (modem)?
4. What device are you testing with?
5. Are you connected to the router or the satellites for speedtesting? You'll get different speeds from each
6. The 2.4ghz isn't going to hit those speeds anywhere close. So changing from channel 1 to 2 won't matter. Its only the 5ghz that'll get that 500+ speeds depending on your device
7. What app are you using to test with?
8. Try factory resetting the router and reinstalling it. Whenever you change speeds, it doesn't hurt
