some details would help.
1. what modem do you have?
2. what router do you have?
3. is it only wifi? Or wired devices too?
4. If spectrum just changed something, did you check with theM?

The normal routine when that happens is to return the device to the people who sold you the thing. That is the law in many countries.
However, your first message suggests that your unknown device worked until "spectrum did an update".
In that case, Netgear may be as confused as I am as to what is happening at our end.
As you didn't answer any of the questions from @plemans it is difficult to know what Netgear could have done better.
