Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

Having logged on to my new X6S (set up as an access point with the router and two subsidiary devices connected through cable and a few wirelessly), I try to list the connected devices. I get the "Please wait a moment" popup, but then it stalls. This happen however I connect my laptop. Rebooting the router does not help.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

I have the same issue, got it today, setup in Access Point Mode.

Tried with Chrome and Edge browsers with the same issue.

The model number,

  • Hardware Version: EX8000
  • Firmware Version: V1.0.0.102

Is not in the list of models for some reason.

Also it fails to find firmware updates saying no connected to the internet which is not true.

P.S. You still have to unzip the firmware update if you download it. It will accept the zipped file as being an update and then say it is wrong for this model.

Yes I have tested this myself and made the issue known to the engineers they will resolve this in upcoming firmware.

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

The EX8000 has had the internet firmware update bug since the initial firmware v1.0.0.82. The problem with connected devices not listing started with firmware v1.0.0.92 and is still a bug in v1.0.0.102. For now I have gone back to v1.0.0.82 so I can monitor what devices are connected.

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

Seems to be a bit better in new firmware out now...

  • Firmware Version: V1.0.0.118

It does however seem to get the list of wired clients wrong, I assumed it would only show devices plugged into the rear ports but it lists all of them...

The EX8000 v1.0.0.82 firmware also listed all devices. I will update to v1.0.0.118 now.

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

I just tried it again and it no longer works 😞 😞 😞

Pretty pathetic and as the last "update" was November how long will it take before their next attempt?

EDIT: Tried it again and it worked so it seems to be a bit hit or miss...

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

I have a new X6S as well - mine also does not show devices.  I am however not using it in AP mode. I'm using it as an extender. Though it's 300 ft aaway from the primary router and is handling 3 lan connections and several wifi.  (shouldn't it still list devices?)  I installed the latest .118 firmware only to find out while doing so that I already have it.  So just installed it again.

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

Hi All,

Connected devices must work fine on lastest firmware v1.0.0.118. Extender will list every device which is connected through to its network via any switch or hub wired and wireless too. Let me know if you come across any issues.

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

WEIRD - I've had the router for a month new - and it never has listed everything. Usually nothing, and once in a while 1-2 things.

I just read your message saying 118  DOES DISPLAY ALL.  (I have 118) in mine.

So I looked (again - I've done so 50 times with no accurate result) and after reading your post - I see everything and more I didn't even know was connected as the things are closer to the primary router.  So what did you do to make it work all of a sudden?  I won't believe it until I check next time and everything is shown.

What is the check box to ENABLE ACCESS CONTROL:?

Re: Nighthawk X6S does not list connected devices

Hi @rojoyinc,

I will wait for you to moniter it. Just to keep you notified, if your device is connected to router's network, it'll not be listed in extender's connected device though this extender is using same SSID as your router. Enable access control is similar to access control on routers where you can block/deny access to any of wireless client by enabling it.
