No router link LED N300

Dear all

I recently switched to this range extender from a BT version as I thought it had failed. The Netgear extender has been working but then this weekend my daughter yelled downstairs that she had no internet. Its worth mentioning that I followed manufacturers instructions when setting up but I did not realise that is should not be located in the area with the weakest signal. The old extender was also located in the same place. Anyhow I have tried and tried to setup the Netgear unit but no luck. I have tried resetting and going back through the whole registering the device again. It has the green power light and the client link led is green when trying to set it up but there is no router link LED. Im not super IT savvy but I get by and I am at my wits end trying to understand what is wrong.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply but I tried that and get the same results. When you click on the NETGEAR_EXT address there is no internet connection. I assume because it is not linked up with the router.

After the reset, there will be no internet connection.  You set up the extender->router link by browsing to www.mywifiext.net and going through the setup procedure.  This URL takes you to the extender's built-in web ui, it does not require an internet connection to work.

The setup I am recommending is described on page 12 of the user manual (Connect With Web Browser Setup) here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN3000RPV3/WN3000RPv3_UM_25Aug2015.pdf

After the reset, try connecting a PC or tablet to the extender's wifi network.  Then browse to mywifiext.net.
