Sky and WN3000RP - has anyone got this working longer than 24 hours???

Hi,
I have the WN3000RP connected to the sky broadband router. The WN3000RP is up to date (v1.0.1.36). All wireless devices connect to the extender - only wired devices (and the extender) connect to the main router.

Everything works fine for about 12 to 24 hours and then all ip addresses are lost from connected devices - seems like there's a dns conflict perhaps?

Extender currently uses factory settings but i've also tried with the static addresses (no DHCP) but there's no difference.

Any help, greatly appreciated!!!

Extender does not control any DNS. Simply pass the traffic and extending the signal.
  • Hi, my name is Susan, and I want to ask someone why I lose my internet connection once or twice every day, and have to reset. My Router is a WNR2000, and it is connected to my friend's Comcast service. My friend has an ethernet cord connecting his laptop to his Comcast modem. My laptop is strictly wireless. My friend almost never loses his connection, but mine cuts out at least once a day, and sometimes twice. When it cuts out, I have to wait until he gets to a stopping place with what he is doing on his computer, before I can reset. Resetting always gets me back online, but not for long. And, there have been times when I had to wait more than 24 hours before I could reset. If there is an ascertainable reason why this is happening, and if there is a way to fix it, so that it stops happening--I would be grateful for the help and information.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has the answer and solution.

  • I've done everything to keep this running. I have constant DNS issues (according to Mobile Google Chrome on iOS). I've done software resets by resetting it up with the same network, hardware resets, used a Belkin WeMo as a switch so I could power cycle, changed the whole DNS to google DNS (only for that to not help at all, and I had to switch back to the ISP's DNS), and I have flushed both the routers DNS, and the extenders DNS. I am on a netgear WNDR3700v2 router. I just wanna know what else I can do? Or is this extender a legitimate peice of crap? If so can I somehow get my money back?
