Syncing up two Netgear extenders
I have a shop that is about 80 feet away from my house. I have a laptop that I use at the shop. In the closest corner of the house to the shop, I have a range extender. The signal is marginal to the shop. Sometimes it works OK, and many other times it is far less than adequate. I was told by a cable technician that I could put another extender in the shop and sync it up with the one in the house.
The router I have is a Netgear N750 Model WNDR4300. It is about 4 years old. The modem is an Arris Model TM902A. Should either of these be upgraded to help the cause?
My questions are:
1. Is the extender I already have good enough or should I get a better one?
2. Is syncing up two extenders a viable option?
3. How successful do you think this will be?
4. Short of hard wiring a cable all the way to the shop, are there any better options?
Thank you for your time.
Steve
Thank you for the response. The extender I have in place now is in the corner of my house and it is about 80 feet from my shop where the laptop is. It works reasonable well although the signal is not very consistent. Based on what you have said, I guess I will look into hardwiring a cable from the house to the shop. Again, thanks for the input.

Just bumping this up in the hope that someone can help me or point me in the right direction.
Thank you.

Hello Deadeye10
Not sure if a wireless extender will help you because that extender will get the same wifi signal that your laptop will get you want to place extenders in the middle of where your connection is and where you want to connect to boost the signal.
