WN3000RPv3 and Uverse wireless receiver

I have a Uverse TV wireless receiver that keeps losing connection (it's pretty far from the router with several walls in bewteen) so I bought this Wifi extender today in hopes it will stay connected. I don't know how to connect the wireless receiver to the extender. Has anyone done this and how?
