devices cant connect to extended network

I got this  EX 2700 wifi extender back in December (hey, that rhymes!)

and then set it up manually, originally it worked fine.  Then a month or so later, lost connection to the main router,  Red light on router connection.  I finally got around to resetting it,  the WPA manual connection worked as expected, I have a new extended network

BUT -  no devices can connect to it.  My macbook pro searches, searches, winds up with a greyed out wifi symbol with a bang (!) superimposed.   My ipad searches interminably. Both see the network fine, just can't connect.

And, of course, my service agreement for the new device expired a week ago. and I'm SOL for getting support.

Any ideas what to do other than use this crummy gadget as a fishing weight?

    Hello vytasb

I would try to do a factory reset on the EX2700 by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds and they try to connect it back to the router again.

      Tried it, didn't help.

Like I said, connection of the 2700 to the router was not a problem, only connection of the _devices_ to the extended network. They see it, but the spinner goes round and round, never connecting.  Devices meaning laptop, ipad, iphone.

      Any other ideas?
