start up problems

i am trying to set up my new extender, the new unit will not connect to my wifi router, i tried to set up with wps, i am replacing a different netgear extender.

    Try resetting the extender, and try again w/o pressing WPS.  You'll see a network called NETGEAR_EXT.  Join it, and then browse to www.mywifiext.net.
