Dear Support, I see the old tread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyCLOUD/ReadyCloud-won-t-turn-on/m-p/1018938#M2041 has been signed as closed. Why? The problem is not solved. In the meantime I received the notification of a newer Firmware (6.4.2) (the ReadyCloud issue was created by the ver. 6.4.1). But the issue is still exacley the same. After the .6.4.1 updat: - all network configuration were messed-up - the Webpage and Label Serial number didn't match anymore - the ReadyCloud unable to be turned ON. I bought your NAS due to the remote access to my files. Now are already months that you created this problem and you discontinued a service which drove me to buy this device. I would appreciate if you, after this quite long time, will offer a real solution. Thanks in advance MaxSolved4.5KViews0likes6CommentsReady NAS 104 Locks Up (6.4.1)
Hello all! At some point that I haven't nailed down, my ReadyNas104 (6.4.1) hangs completely. All front lights get stuck solid, the screen continues displaying whatever was on it at the time of the hang, and the NAS begins refusing all network access, including SMB, AFP, HTTP, Anything. The only solution is to unplug it and plug it back in, triggering a volume resync, which usually fails and locks up again around 22% or so. I've performed an OS Reinstall, Complete Factory Reset, and Have tried disabling bit rot, and the antivirus scanner. The NAS is running no apps, has one user (admin), and has 2 shares, one containing disk images, the other media files. Both shares are using SMB, AFP, and NFS. The log files are availible here. Any help you could give would be appreciated.Solved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsPower Timer not turning on OS6 FW 6.4.1 - Legacy Ultra 6
I recently acquired an Ultra 6 Plus, which I upgraded to OS 6, FW 6.4.1, for use in backups. The Power Timer function (which I liked better in the old NV+ models, since I could specify minutes) turns the U6+ off, but does not turn it on. I'm currently using a cron entry on my DD-WRT router to do a WOL job to turn the U6+ on at the specified time (3:50am). Needless to say, it's a fix smacking of Rube Goldberg, though not as good as the one in this simple alarm clock (No, this is NOT my proposed fix, perfume is expensive, and so are cannonballs). Hardware: ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus Firmware: 6.4.1 Time: correct Power Timer: currently 2am to 11am (so I can verify it turned on for to do backups, will shorten to 6 or 7am when assured of regular backups) Backup jobs: currently 4am to 6am (rsync pulls) WOL: enabled DD-WRT router cron WOL job: 3:50AM Ay suggestions on how I can fix this? I'm willing to SSH in if need be, but not completely comfortable in linux. -kevinb1 (formerly imsai on infrant/netgear, how do I change my handle back?) P.S. I'm also getting fan underspeed warnings, but one thing at a time....SolvedRsync not working with restricting security options in 6.4.1
After updating to Readynas OS 6.41 my rsync backups over SSH with KEY to another server do no longer work. The remote server has this option in /root/.ssh/authorized_keys command="/usr/local/bin/rrsync /mnt/disk/",no-pty,no-agent-forwarding,no-port-forwarding,no-user-rc,no-X11-forwarding ssh-rsa READYNAS PUCLIC KEYHERE The readynas did to backups to this system without problems... until i moved to 4.6.1 (from 6.2.5). It works if I: A) Either put this in /root/.ssh/authorized_keys on the remote server: command="/usr/local/bin/rrsync /mnt/disk/" ssh-rsa READYNAS PUCLIC KEYHERE B) Or if I issues this command from the CLI on the readynas (ssh login to NAS): rsync -avlz -e "ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null" --stats --progress --exclude 'home_dieter/snapshot' /data/home_personx 10.0.0.xx:/ My conclusion: the 6.4.1 does add some command to the Rsync over SSH that failes to work with a security restricted Rsync server. It's NOT that the Rsync does not work together in terms of incompatible Rsync protocol versions, as far as I can tell. Can someone perhaps tell me what Rsync options the 6.4.1 uses with Rsync over SSH? What has changed with 6.4.1 compared to 6.2.5? info: My NAS: readynas 102, backup server: Debian “jessie”2.8KViews0likes1CommentUpgraded from 6.4.0 to 6.4.1... external backup drive disappeared...
Every frickin upgrade is an adventure. Anyway... RN104 was running 6.4.0. Nightly backups to external USB drive were working perfectly. The same day that I upgraded to 6.4.1, I got a message that the nightly backup failed because the destination wasn't there. After investigating I see that the NAS no longer sees the external USB backup drive. Wonderful. The disk is recognized by my desktop, just not the NAS. Anybody have similar issue? Fix?
