I disconnected from my WiFi because my phone security app (McAfee) said that hackers were trying to intercept my data. When I tried to re-connect, I get a WiFi Connection Failure message. After some searching, I found that when I go to WiFi Setup (advanced) on my phone , it shows that the IP address is unavailable. My wife has an identical phone and this same screen on her phone shows the IP address. Her phone still has connection to our WiFi. I believe that the missing IP address is the problem but I cannot find how to update the IP address in the WiFi setup on the phone. Any help would be appreciated.SolvedAuthentication problem connecting phone or tablet through EX6100 / WNR1000v3
I have had lots of trouble connecting my phone. I live in a 2 floor condo. The router is upstairs. I have an EX6100 on the first floor. It IS connected to the WNR 1000v3. I can see the EX6100 in NetGenie. But I cannot get my phone to just connect. It does connect to the router, which is in the room dierctly over the garage. When I go inside farther away from the router, I would think that it would connect with the EX6100 but it always announces that there is an authentication problem. So I have to go over to the 6100 and press the WPS button to connect the phone which also has a WPS software button. It works but it's a hassle. It's an Android 4.4 phone. My tablet has Android 5.0 and hooks up automatically. This is getting old. When I'm at work or at the grocery store... no problem. There it is. But at home? Usually I don't bother with the phone. I have a computer downstairs connected via powerline, but it would be nice to be able to get on via the phone. Is it correct that I have the same SSID for the EX6100 as the router?3.8KViews0likes1Comment
