2 TopicsDFS Channels: How to access on the WAX210?
The promotional materials for the WAX210 indicate the hardware supports using DFS channels. The manual even gives a stern warning that I am responsible for proper use of these channels. This access point is being used in an environment with a lot of neighbors not under my control, two nearby apartment buildings and multiplexes across the street. It would be really good to be able to use some of the DFS channels which have a lot less traffic on them. I have been unable to locate where in the UI those channels can be unlocked. How can one access the DFS channels on the Wax210? Suggestions would be appreciated!Questions about the ReadyNAS 424
I am new here and am concidering getting a Netgear ReadyNAS 424. I currentley have a Asustor AS-5004T and want to upgrade it to something better what must incldude native windows based File versioning support (Previous Versions) for SMB shares held on the NAS. My current setup is as follows, I have 2 x 6TB WD Red Pro HDD's inside my exsiting NAS box confiqured in RAID 1 along with a 4TB Red Pro drive used for weekley archiving. I also have a another 6TB WD Red Pro HDD inside my Windows 2016 Essentials rack server what acts as a backup to my main 6TB RAID 1 array. I have a few questions about the ReadyNAS 424, and hopefully those reading will be able to ansewer for me. 1) Can the RAM on the ReadyNAS 424 be upgradded, and if so to how much and what type? I have 8GB in my AS-5004T at the moment and is of the 1600MHz DDR3L SO-DIMM type. (Will 2GB be enough!? , my NAS is my main storage for daily usage and not just a backup/archive) 2) At what level does the ReadyNAS 424 support DFS and file versioning. I would like it to idealy integrate with the DFS capabilitys of Windows Server and have the 6TB drive inside my Rack Server cross syncronise the SMB shares on the ReadyNAS 424 ? 3) Does the ReadyNAS 424 support 802.3AD link aggregation? (I have a Draytek VigorSwitch P2261) 4) How reliable is the ReadyNAS 424?, I am allways having reliability isues with SMB shares shared via UPnP on my Asustor NAS box to my Denon network audio streamer that is part of my Hi-Fi. Sometimes it works fine, othertimes my Denon network audio streamer cannot see the shares on my Asustor NAS box! (All hard wired, no Wi-Fi or Mains LAN senders) 5) Does the ReadyNAS 424 support share/folder encryption what has to be unlocked by a password on starting the unit up. (In case the unit gets stolen.) Also, below suggests that ReadyNAS OS6 supports DFS, what I thought was a proprietary technology to Windows and was not available on Linux based NAS boxes? https://kb.netgear.com/23090/How-do-I-use-DFS-feature-on-the-ReadyNAS-OS-6-storage-system Lastly , anythoughts on the ReadyNAS 424 in general? Regards: Elliott.
