Disk Upgrade
2 TopicsAre 4TB disks supported on the ReadyNAS PRO 2?
Hi, I'm looking at upgrading the capacity of a ReadyNAS Pro 2 box to two 4TB disks. The box is running RAIDiator 4.2.27 (an upgrade to 4.2.28 is planned as well). Checking the HCL (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641) I see 3TB and 4TB disks are supported. However, the release notes for 4.2.27 (and 28) state "Maximum 2TB drive support on 3200/4200 V1 channels 5-12 due to LSI controller limitation.". What does this mean? That we can insert the 4TB disks but only 2TB would be used? Please advise. Thanks! P.SolvedDisk upgrade ReadyNAS 104
Hello I have a ReadyNAS 104 with 4 x 2TB drives. I wants to replace all 4 drives with 3TB drives. I have taken a full backup to an external 2TB drive as I only had 1.39 TB of data in total. Now do I hot swap ? or power down and remove.? And which drive bay should I start with? Once I have inserted a new drive and resync is complete, should I reboot then replace the next drive. I have looked through a lot of posts on here but none appear to give a definitive answer. Thanks KeithSolved4.6KViews0likes6Comments
