3 TopicsiSCSI Expand Successful but Not Provisioned
iSCSI existing 2TB MBR disk with lots of data (dB, mail) expanded successfully to 3TB leaving the existing 2TB and 1TB of additional space. I am unable to use a commercial product or Windows disk mgt to convert the MBR to GPT to truely expand the existing iSCSI disk to 3 TB. Other then creating a new iSCSI disk with 3TB and formated to GPT and copying the data over, what options are there to make the additional 1 TB of space available to truely expand the existing disk? Hello. I have a ReadyNas 3200 Running firmware 4.2.28. I expanded the drives from the initial defualt of 9TB to 12TB. Now I want to do a factory restore since I have upgraded many of the disks to 3 TB. I backed up the entire system and did a factory restore. It says Volume C is syncing (7.6% complete) it also says "This ReadyNAS is resyncing. During this process the system is accessible. I logged in with the defualt user and password but on the main screen it says Online, X-RAID2, 12 disks, 0% of 9223 GB used Does it need to finish resyncing and then it will expand? It is now smaller than when I started the process? It took 2 days to back it up and now I am dissappointed to see the sice as 9223 GB - Someone please tell me that this is normal and that after it is finished syncing it will automatically see the extra space and expand? Hi! I have a ReadyNAS NV2+, and am rapidly running out of storage space. I looked at buying a new 8-bay NAS (from various manufacturers such as QNap), but these see to be many times more expensive than the ReadyNAS 4-bay units. So, my question is this: can I buy a second ReadyNAS, and link it to my old one to expand the capacity? Ideally, I'll like to link the 2 NAS together to maintain a single volume (rather than having two separate NAS), and have them run in X-RAID2 mode to mitigate HDD failure. Any thoughts on how I can do this (or a more appropriate alternative solution) most welcome! Many thanks in advance!Solved3.3KViews0likes3Comments
