1 TopicFVS318Gv2 in a strange state after Firmware 4.3.3-8 update attempt
Hi there, There are quite a few posts here about not being able to update the firmware on this device from 4.3.3-6 to 4.3.3-8 via the UI. In going through these, I noticed that many folks had opted to update via telnet using a TFTP server. I thought, "Why not? What could go wrong?" So I performed the "util firmware_upgrade" command, and right after it said, "Writing File System to Flash," the telnet session was disconnected by foreign host, which means that the router hung up on me. Now, wierdly, the router is functional, meaning that the network is still running and the Internet is available to all device; however, sadly, the UI has stopped working, and ever sadder, I can't log in via Telnet now. The message(s) I get when I try to login via telnet are: /pfrm2.0/bin/lua: cannot read /pfrm2.0/bin/authUsrPasswd.sh: Input/output error /pfrm2.0/bin/platform.cli: exec: line 13: /pfrm2.0/bin/clish: Input/output error Connection closed by foreign host. As I don't have a spare router on hand, and I need it to be working so that I can work, I'm feeling a bit dubious about resetting the router by cycling the power. So here's my question: What are the odds that this beast will be bricked vs. it coming back to life normally should I yank the power and reconnect?2KViews0likes2Comments
