Indexing Speed on RN102 and Meaning of Icons in ReadyCloud Client 1.9
Hi all, I'm new to ReadyNas and am struggling - so I'd be very grateful for your help... With the different backup and syncing options, I'm getting very confused. What I want to do - simply have folders on my Win 7 PC copied and synced onto similar-named folders on my ReadyNas. The PC is on a network attached via a Netgear GS108 switch - both LEDs are on (indicating 1000Mb connection). What I have tried - I am using the ReadyCloud client (from the system tray) - see below: I have simply selected 'Backup PC Folder' for each of the folders on my PC (FREDA). As you can see most are okay but the 'Media' folder is still uploading, after taking about 2 hours to index. The 'media' folder contains 88 files, 15 folders and 23.2GB. Can I expect the indexing speed to always be this slow? Yesterday, I tried to backup a folder with 460Gb (yes I know it's big), but after waiting for 12 hours without uploading even starting I gave in and thought I'd have a go 'piecemeal' - looks like it will take me days to get the data on the ReadyNas. Also, I noted that if I can change the folder names to match that on my PC (by dropping the 'FREDA'), the backup process does not work. Is this right? Finally, does anyone know where I can find the meaning of the icons as when I go online for help (by watching YouTube videos for example), there appears to be slight differences which make me wonder whether I have something selected that might be causing the speed problem? What does the clock-type icon shown in my attachment mean? Thank you.
