36 TopicsManaging M6 Pro with Insight Pro - Key Settings Missing?
Hi, [Copied from Mobile Solutions / Hotspots channel] I have purchased an Insight Pro subscription to try to manage my M6 Pro MR6450 mobile router remotely. I have successfully managed to get the router enrolled and can see it through the Insight Portal. have built a device profile with most of the settings I need the M6 to have, but I cannot see all of the settings I need. I have the M6 available so I can fiddle with settings and reset etc., but I need to be able to manage the settings remotely because soon the M6 will be deployed at a much more inaccessible location. 1) Where can I enable the M6 Ethernet port through Insight Pro? This is OFF by default after any reset and is critical to the role the M6 will have. I cannot see any setting for enabling the Ethernet port in the Insight Pro mobile device profiles etc, and on the device screen or local GUI the option is greyed out when controlled by Insight... If an option like this for a major feature exists in the device natively, it surely MUST exist in the management software, right?!! 2) I also cannot find the setting for 'power mode' within Insight Pro (i.e. balanced, performance, max performance without battery)? There's nothing equivalent in the mobile device profiles etc. Again, while this is easy to find in the device screen or local GUI, the option is greyed out when controlled by Insight... 3) For points 1 and 2 above, is there a way to set the mobile device profile in Insight so that these settings are not changed when the device becomes managed, if those settings have been pre-configured? I guess this might be in the Enforcement Settings part of the mobile device profile, but which part? 4) Is there any way to see the SMS received by the router remotely? It's needed for service activations.. I guess this is likely not possible for user privacy reasons, but in this case, how to make the local GUI available remotely? See question 5.. 5) I was really hoping Insight Pro would let me simply access a version of the same dashboard I see if I manage the router locally through a web browser. Have I missed something? Under the Devices box in the Mobile tab of Insight, I get an IP address for the M6 listed and it's a hyperlink. I believe this should allow me to access the normal 'local' GUI but it has only ever worked once to do this. All other times it fails to connect. What do I need to set for this to work properly, some port number or something?, or is it a case of it depending on what IP the cellular provider has assigned? The only time it worked was when the connection was between two mobile devices on the same provider in roughly the same location.. Thanks, Geoff19Views0likes1CommentInsight offering Updates already in place?
Dear Pramendra What is going on in the Insight platform? Strange to see update proposals for devices with certainly the latest firmware in place already? Insight does list any Netgear device, including many not supported by Insight? TIA, -Kurt.41Views0likes6CommentsDuplicate Purchase – Request for Refund and Urgent Assistance
Dear Netgear Insight Support Team, I am writing to report a recurring billing issue related to my Insight Premium (9 devices) subscription. For the past three years, I have been charged twice annually for what appears to be the same service, resulting in a duplicate purchase and overpayment. Upon reviewing my records, I suspect the issue may stem from the fact that my email address (wunan.nju@gmail.com) has been mistakenly associated with two separate Customer Account Numbers: Customer Account Number 1: 51093698 Customer Account Number 2: 40201806 I believe this duplication may have led to the system charging me twice for the same subscription. I have previously attempted to contact your team multiple times via sale@insight.com, but unfortunately, I have not received any response. I respectfully request the following: Verify the ownership and linkage of both Customer Account Numbers listed above with my email address. Confirm whether duplicate subscriptions exist and whether they are the cause of the repeated billing. Arrange a refund for any overcharges that resulted from this duplication. Take steps to consolidate or correct the account linkage to prevent future issues. Please respond directly to my email: wunan.nju@gmail.com. Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this issue. Sincerely, Nan15Views0likes0CommentsWAX630E Capture Portal
Hi all, I am trying to setup a capture portal for a restaurant client. I can configure a GoZoneWifi and it works; however, the client wants it to redirect to a landing page on their website before allowing access. Is there a guide that is available to do this at all?18Views0likes0CommentsAssigning an Insight Cloud Uplink Port
I'm trying to reconfigure my home network ahead of a fiber install next week. My goal is to connect my Netgear switch to my Unify Dream Machine Pro Max via a 10G DAC (port 10 on the switch) and to my Wifi AP on the 2.5 gig port 1 of the switch. I have my network segregated into five (5) VLANs (1 Management, 2 Secure, 3 Guest, 4 IoT, 5 Cameras) and I can't seem to get my port configuration correct. I think I want to assign ports 1 and 10 (to the AP and Gateway) as Trunk Ports but as soon as I do Insight loses its Uplink Port. If I plug in another cable from the gateway and unplug port 10 it reconnects and the "Uplink" switches to port 8 (the newly plugged in port). When I then reconnect port 10 it takes over as the uplink and the router blocks port 8, IIRC having 2 lines connected between the same devices can cause a loop/flood so I can kind of understand why it would do that. So, if assigning port 10 as a trunk for all of my VLANs kills the uplink to Insight how do I configure the ports to Trunk my VLANs from Gateway-->Switch-->AP while maintaining an uplink to Insight? Is there a way to permanently assign port 8 (or another port) to the cloud uplink while allowing the trunk ports between all three devices? I eventually intend to move my PC and some storage over to the switch but I can't until I figure out how to get all three devices talking to each other properly.1.3KViews0likes4CommentsSetting MTU on GS108Tv3
Hello all, I would like to enable a large MTU going from my NAS to several devices, across 3 linked GS108Tv3 switches. It seems setting MTU on the switch is an all or nothing option, meaning when I enable it then its enabled on all switch ports. If I have a device that is connected to these switches, but does uses the default MTU, will I run into problems bc the port is configured for 9K? Thanks, SteveSolvedMS510TXUP which sfp+ transceovers?
Hi, Which sfp+ transceivers are officially suggested for MS510TXUP please? I have pair of Mikrotik as they auto negotiate below 1G and up to 10G inc 2.5G & 5G in between and where £60 each. The Netgear ones I've seen online are £300 each and don't know why? Any advice please?695Views0likes2CommentsGC752X - Insight alerts, multiple times per day, false reporting
I continually receive emails telling me that the switch is offline (when it's not) and then when it supposedly comes back online.... Like this: The following device resumed communication with the NETGEAR Insight cloud service at approximately 21-Sep-2023 11:18 What can I do to fix this? This happens repeatedly some days, and then we'll go for weeks without any issue. Very annoying2.2KViews0likes10CommentsGC510P shows disconnected but is working
Symptom: Insight shows 4 of my 6 switches as disconnected, but they are working fine. I have 6 GC510P switches at a location. When looking at the switches, they all show they are connected to the Internet (blue light is on). They are all functioning properly (various cameras and access points on separate vlans all work). When I use Insight to look at the switches, 4 of them show "device is disconnected"; it's been this way for over a week. They got out of sync when I upgraded the firmware. In the past, they only way I could get Insight insync with the switches is to manually reboot each switch. The location is connected to the network using an airbridge. I don't know if this impacts something. Any ideas on why the hardware isn't in sync with Insight? TIA, Louis735Views0likes2CommentsGC752XP Switch Firmware 1.0.5.38 Issues high CPU Rebooting
I started having issues recently on firmware 1.0.5.38 with high CPU and random reboots after using more ports than normal. I have IGMP snooping disabled on VLAN's and have two Insight switches. I noticed I had a POE camera that was flapping a port due to it's own issues, so the port and POE were turned off. However, the switch issues continued. I was able to downgrade to 1.0.5.36 and unplugged everything from the switch except LAN and Internet access. Booted and connected to Insight fine. Thought maybe corrupt firmware update through Insight, I manually downloaded from website and installed back 1.0.5.38 through local console. Shortly after booting it went back to 90+% utilization and after 6 minutes rebooted. Further reboots all yielded same issue. I've been on FW 1.0.5.36 continuously for over a day and not having any issues with CPU utilization around 20%. So I'm eliminating any hardware issues with connected devices or the switch itself as it's been stable on this version.2.9KViews0likes9Comments
