Since DOCSIS 3.1 has been released in many markets (Cox, Comcast etc) in the US giving us the consumer options to upgrade to speeds greater to or equal to that of 1Gbps I would like to request to see if it would be possible for Netgear to create a Firmware Update that would give us the ability to Bond two WAN ports with LAG / LACP on the R9000, using the available LAN1 and LAN2 ethernet ports designated for Static LAG or LACP-IEEE 803.3ad. There are now many consumer grade DOCSIS 3.1 Modems that support this due to the fact that speeds are now at or above 1Gbps. In order to bypass the 1Gbps physical port bottle neck, this makes perfect sense. Just for the sake of naming a few modems that have this capability, here I name a few: Motorola MB8600, Arris CM8200, Arris SB8200. I'm sure Netgear will also release DOCSIS 3.1 cable modems that have WAN port bonding simply due to the new speeds of internet available to us via this medium.18KViews1like4CommentsLACP on gigabit ethernet port for R7000P and above
Hello, The device is really cool but I can't understand why there is no LACP... Wifi is faster than the gigabit ethernet ports? Is it really ok for you? I really hope there will be a LACP version of this model, or maybe better... a new firmware with this option. It should be so great for home NAS to perform in good condition HD streaming. Secondly, is it possible to connect a 4G router (netgear AC810AC) on USB3 to make a internet "failover". It should be great too. Thanks for reading me. And thank for the goos job you make on these products. Kind Regards, Nicolas.9.7KViews1like0Comments
