Hello, Here is what I am trying to accomplish. Building A - 192.168.0.x Building B - 192.168.1.x I have a ubiquiti wifi antenna that is connecting both buildings for the SOLE purpose of building B, accessing building A's NAS Drive, 192.168.0.10 I have been told a bunch of how to scenarios, but i cant get it working right as in segmenting each network separate so both DHCP servers do not conflict. I want both networks to remain independant, only a handful of PC's at building B to access the Nas Drive at building A. (A VPN was not able to accomplish this fast enough, even with Gigabit Internet, SMD doesn't like VPN's). So i was told on the srx5308 to plug one of the antenna's into one of the Quad WAN Ports, lets say Wan2.. Give it a /29 IP Address. Then do the same on the other building (which has a non-netgear firewall).. but for now lets concentrate on the setup in building B with the Srx5308. This is what i was told: On the SRX5308 plug the bridge into one of the spare WAN ports and assign a small subnet (e.g. 172.16.10.1/29). Page 127 of the manual tells you how to setup static routes. Problem is, the srx5308 won't let me do this unless i put in a gateway and dns servers on the Wan2 port as far as i can tell. Also do i turn on DHCP on that /29 range or leave it solo and static the IPs in it.. Fwiw, i had this working buy just plugging everything in and using IP ALias's on the windows machines, but the dhcp servers on both ends could obviously not coexist.. I need to keep the network separate but have this one tunnel to get to that nas drive thru the antenna connection (the buildings are approx 900 ft away, the antennas work very very well). Appreciate any assistance.Solved155Views0likes24CommentsSupport LACP L2+L3 hashing on XS series switches
The XS series switches only support L2 hashing with LACP (802.3ad), apparently only the managed switches support anything beyond L2. The ReadyNAS units support L2, L2+L3, and L2+L3+L4 out of the box. Could the upper tier web managed switches please have at least L2+L3 support added? I'm not talking about going crazy and adding more than that. Should be a relatively minor change, the UI changes would likely be more involved than the protocol changes. It should be a big benefit to the ReadyNAS users.11KViews1like1CommentReadynas 312 network issues
We have 6 ystems connecting to a share on our ready nas 312 and up until about two weeks ago everything was fine. The share is mapped to local systems as the "N" drive and everyone has read write access to the folder and sub-folders. Now when accessing a file - we somertimes receive a lost connection to network drive message which happens if we are already in an open file or accesing a folder. After 10 or so minutes access is reaqcuired and the file can be modified but it is making the system unusable. We are updated to the most current firmwar and recently I feel the issue caused the volume records in the system to get wiped out and Netgear tech support had to remote into the system to correct. Has anyone experienced this issue?685Views0likes1Commentupgrade from 6.8.1 to 6.9 disabled eth0,1,2,3
I upgraded my readynas 4220 from 6.8.1 to 6.9.0 and the three onboard ethernet ports are showing DHCP enabled in the gui but do not link to the switch. It seems as if they are administrativly disabled. I have tried factory reset and os reinstall as well as restoring the network configuration from a 4220 with the same configuration (as a matter of fact they are of exactly the same manufacturing run so the motherboards are identical) with no sucess. how can I get the system to rediscover (actually renable) the onboard ethernet ports?Solved1.5KViews0likes3Comments1GbE speeds over 10GbE connections? MacOS
I was wondering if anyone is having this same expereince. I have a new 626x, all drives filled, x-raid, connected to a Netgear XS708E 10GbE router, and I'm getting very slow speeds over 10GbE. Not even 90MBs. I was getting better speeds though my Pioneer Pro. My mac is connected to the router though a Promise Technolgy Sanlink2 by thunderbolt. I know I have to tinker with the settigs on each device to get the best performance, but it shouldn't be this slow, should it? Any advice would be appreciated.Solved6.4KViews0likes13CommentsMultiple IP Addresses
Hello community, I've been using a ReadyNAS Pro 6 for a very very long time and over the years not really bothered much with it's configuration as it was mainly used as a storage dump however unless I am mistaken it still lacks the basic ability to add multiple IP Addresses to the same interface whether that be eth0 / etho1 or even a bonded interface. Why? Only having the ability to assign a single local IP to a storage device is something you did a decade ago, keeping with current times, we should have the ability to assign any number of IPs to any number of interfaces. Am I just being synical or is there a reason for not having this ability in the web interface? So I bought a few ReadyNAS 516 based on the fact that it was promoted and promised that there would be a supported upgrade path to 10Gbe. I'd not been watching the lack of progress on this, but now I have a client looking for the upgrade I told them would be availble. What on earth happened? The readynas 516 was relaeased years ago now and there is still no 10Gbe upgrade path. What on earth happened? Why isn't this released? When eill it be? If it's been scrapped as an option and loyal customers are once again bent-over where on earth is the statement from Netgear? Sorry for being so frustrated, but it's hard not to be when it seems as though we've been "creatively" sold a product and I look like an ass for telling my client what netgear told us. The setup My NETGEAR ReadyNAS Ultra 2 (I know, she's old but still lovely!) is connected by a single LAN cable to my local network. That local network also connects three laptops, two cellphones (all four wireless) and two TVs (by a LAN cable). The TVs are provided with digital television by the ISP (if it matters, the Dutch company "KPN"). The phone is also connected to that router by a regular "phone jack" (RJ11). The ReadyNAS is not often accessed for its NAS part: that is mainly used as photo archive. It does have the HTTP, FTP and SSH servers enabled, but the website isn't "high traffic". The NAS runs on RAIDiator V4.2.27. The problem Whenever the ReadyNAS is on and connected to the local network (but not "in use": no one is using the three servers or the NAS part), the TV signal is "disrupted": the screen freezes for periods ranging from 10 seconds to several minutes, and at times it tells me that it lost the signal. The disrupts do not occur when the NAS is not connected to the network. However, that renders the NAS useless of course. On suggestion of the help desk of my ISP I connected the NAS to another power outlet. This didn't change anything. I also switched the LAN port that is in use on the NAS. That also didn't help. Maybe some explicit questions might help? Could it be that the disrupts are caused by the NAS, or is it just a strange coincidence? If the NAS could be the cause, could anyone please help me solve this? Would this be a software or hardware problem? Would otherwise a new/other device functioning as NAS and webserver solve this problem? Thanks for considering!Solved4.7KViews0likes10Comments
