I bought R8000 from US during my travel and i want to use it within EU. Region setting can't be changed from admin interface and wireless performance is sluggish because of the low power compared to my home country. Is there any way to change region of this router other then US?Solved123KViews0likes22CommentsNetGet NightHawk X6 AC3200 R8000 - OpenVPN - MD5
Good night, I have a NetGear NightHawk X6 AC3200 R8000 with the firmware 1.0.4.12 installed, the lastest, and I can confirm that no change has been made to the VPN certificate, even though this was known at least since January 2018 when a NetGear Moderator indicated that NetGear was going to support the new certificate before OpenVPN stops supporting the MD5 certificate (April 2018). Here is the post I refer to: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R8300-Support-for-MD5-Certificates-with-Built-In-VPN/m-p/1496268#M81267 I insist to NetGear to solve this problem in the following days and fulfil with their word. This is a complete lack of respect to their clients and users, and I would not stand at all this situation. If necesary, I will take al necesary means to make sure that this problem is finaly resolved. Thanks in advance. Yours sincerely, Buzzetti MartínSolved3.9KViews1like2CommentsUPNP no longer works
I just updated to Firmware V1.0.3.16 After the router completed the update, UPNP no longer works. I have tried rebooting the router several times but the port is not being automatically forwarded to the computer on the network. I have never had an issue with this before. Two ports that are usually handled are transmission and Plex. I manually forwarded the ports and it is working. But I shouldnt have to manually manage the connections. Any ideas on how to get it working again?Solved4.4KViews0likes7CommentsXR500 and cm1000

Model: Netgear R9000 / AD7200 Nighthawk X10 Router The 60Ghz LED is lit on the router, and under the "Advanced Wireless Settings (60GHz 802.11ad)", the "Enable Wireless Router Radio" is unchecked, but the "Broadcast Name" is still transmitting. All of the other bands are unchecked and aren’t transmitting, so why is this the only one? I've tried every possible configuration in the router setup, but nothing works. Any idea on how to turn it off?Solved4.1KViews0likes3CommentsHardwire the EX7000 instead of wirelessly connecting to the router?
I’m going to try my best to explain my current situation as best as possible since I’m not entirely tech savvy or literate. My current situation is that there are devices that need to be hardwired but the devices are located in separate rooms. One device in my room and one in my brother’s. Now I know that I can use the EX7000 to wirelessly connect to my router and just use the Ethernet ports but doing that cuts down on download speeds. So I was wondering if I can use the Ethernet port in my room and plug the extender into that so I won’t have to wirelessly connect to the router? The current set up is that we have Frontier FiOS and the ONT box is located in our garage. Not sure what that means but the employee from BestBuy said it acts as the modem so that all the Ethernet ports our house can support a router without the need of an actual modem. So currently, all we currently have the Nighthawk X6 plugged into the Ethernet port in my brother’s room and is producing a Wifi signal with internet. We now both have desktops that have no Wifi adapters. So in order to use the internet on our computer we need to be wired. We used to share a room so it was never a problem since the router was in our room but now that we have our own rooms, he kept the router while I have no possible way of accessing internet via wired connection. Since we both game, we prefer a wired connection overall for the best performance. Hence the reason why we never purchased a Wifi adapter for our PC. While trying to look up a solution for my problem, I was constantly seeing answers like using the EX7000 as an access point. However, instructions say to plug it in to a router, which defeats my purpose of buying the extender in the first place since the extender would need to be located in my brother’s room. So long story short, can I hardwire the EX7000 using the Ethernet port in my room so that it can provide internet to my devices that need to be hardwired into the extender?7.1KViews0likes4CommentsNew Nighthawk, with a New Genie. New SSDI Button? Nighthawk AC2300 Smart Wifi Router, Model 7000P
First the selection did not give me the model of AC2300 Smart WiFi Router. Which is what I will be talking about. Just purchased, setup went directly to updating software and firmware. It has a new genie. Niether the HELP on Netgear nor on UTube show help with this new Gemie. I saw how to clone my old Router into this new one. However my passwords are many... many moons ago. Years out of my memory or notes. So cloning will only have me locked out. I want to do the ports and all, but without the crush of my network being down. I need to make a new SSDI, so that my network will continue running. I can turn off the old transmitter by button. I will figure out how to get in there for port configuration later. I REALLY NEED TO CREAT A ESTABLISHED SSDI AND PASSWORD with this new Genie. I cannot find the simple NEW button, to creat it. Not in this new Genie. This websites Help only shows the older version of Genie. Genie Version 2.4.52 Copyright (c) 2018, NETGEAR Inc. All Rights Reserved. Privacy Policy Powered by BIGIT.COM If it's possible, get directly to device website. Niether 192.168.1.1 nor Routerlogin.net will get me into the machine. I would probably be more comfortable. Thanks for any clues, time and attenion you might have for me. MosheSolved3KViews0likes5CommentsNighthawk R6700v2 losing connection to CM700 Modem
Hi there, We are relatively new Comcast Xfinity custmers and decided to buy our own Modem (CM700) and Router (Nighthawk R6700v2). Every morning we find that our computers are disconnected from the internet (DNS Server error), although the Comcast Home Security system is connected through our Modem... and I can access the Internet on my phone when the computers show they are disconnected, however. Each morning, I have manually reset the modem. Today, however, I reset the router instead and the system came back up... which suggests the problem is with the router. I have been told Comcast send updates around midnight every day... and thought this might be causing the modem/routers issues... Can anyone advise on how I would investigate the issue with the router? Thanks in anticipation, AllanSolved9KViews0likes15CommentsNighthawk r7500 vpn setup
I'm new to VPN but learn quickly. I'm trying to setup VPN on my router for a layer of security for my home. I am getting error messeges with openVPN. Following the instructions on the router, many forums, and the OpenVPN resources, I am not able to get this working. I receive this error "warning: no server certificate verification method has been enabled. see http://openvpn.net/howto.html#mitm for more info." can someone please assist? Perhaps have a walk through other than what's just on the router? Thank you in advance.Solved25KViews0likes10Comments
