5 TopicsDevices connected via WIFI are not able to find DLNA services outside the WIFI network
hi there, my situation: ----> INTERNET ---> FRITZBOX ----> RBR40 (router mode) ----> WIFI DEVICES (my phone) | DLNA DEVICES so at my FRITZBOX (network 192.168.178.X) i have several devices which provide DLNA services. since i use the ORBI WIFI my mobile devices are no longer able to find these DLNA devices when scanning the local network. for example: if i start VLC on my mobile i can scan the local network. there i should find several devices which provide DLNA, for example, SONOS, my NAS, MEDIA SERVER and so on.... but NONE of them were found since i use the ORBI. is there any way to fix that ?????? thanks, michaSolvedApple Airport Time Capsule
I was looking for some thoughts on my configuration. I am running my Airport Time Capsule from my modem via Ethernet at the back of my two story home (2300 square ft). Then I have ran an Ethernet cable from the back of the house around to the front. I ethernetted in the RBR40 router in and I am getting north of my 300mb download speed on Wifi in that room. I have put the RBR40 satellite upstairs in the room directly above the RBR router and I am getting 300mb download from that as well. Ok, so here is the rub. I keep getting a dropped signal on the upper floor every once in awhile on my IPhone while next to the satellite. My xbox which is ethernetted into the satellite has no problems with signal though and gets close to the 300mb regularly. Is it a problem that I have left the Wifi on the Time capsule? Are there competing signals? I figured since the Airport was at the back of the house it would matter and I could still get my back ups and be able to Ethernet back there. I think this setup is great and I can Ethernet in from the back and front of the house and get fast Wifi upstairs. Sorry for the length I just wanted to be thorough. FYI, I have nest cams outside and they get better signal now with this setup, so maybe it is just my phone. Leaving the Time Capsule WiFi on is my main question here, please let me know how you have yours set up. Have a great day everyone. Installed the RBK43 system in my home yesterday and it's working very well. There's a firmware version 2 available (2.0.0.56 and a "fix" 2.0.0.58). After reading about the complaints for version2 for the other Orbi systems, I'm a bit gun-shy. Any comments on this update? Thanks. Can't get wireless speeds over 200mbps on RBK40
Hi everyone. I have an RBK40 system with 1x satellite. I recently upgraded to a 400/40 plan with my ISP (previous was 200/20). Speeds from router to modem are maxing at plan speeds -- no issues! Speeds are even perfect with hardwired NAS and PC. Again, no issues. The problem I'm having is via wireless. None of my wireless N devices will exceed more than just a little over 200mbps down (upload speeds are fine). Should I expect to get more than 200mbps down? I've tested on iPhone 7s, iPads, and laptops. Here's the configuration I have for both the router and the satellite. I'm also running latest firmware (V2.0.0.58): Orbi Satellite WiFi Status (5GHz) Name (SSID): ***** Channel: 36+40+44+48(P) Region: North America Mode: Up to 866.7 Mbps Wireless AP: On Broadcast Name: On Security Type: WPA2-PSK[AES] Orbi Satellite WiFi Status (2.4GHz) Name (SSID): ***** Channel: 9 Region: North America Mode: Up to 400 Mbps Wireless AP: On Broadcast Name: On Security Type: WPA2-PSK[AES]RBK43 Internet Disconnects and Client Disconnects
Hello everyone, Im a new Orbi owner and have been overall pleased with the system. I have been getting somewhat frequent disconnects from internet and from wifi in general. My Roku's disconnect as do my sat's and anything connected to them. I am on the latest Firmware (2.x). Im using the Router in AP mode as I have a Meraki Security Gateway in front of it. When it works its fast but my wife and kids are constantly telling me their devices are disconnecting or they cant get out to the internet. My main PC is wired through another switch and plugged into the Secure Gateway so i know the internet is working :) Thanks, Cypherstrength
