Hi everybody, my rn316 does not start anymore. After changing it's place in my working place it does not boot anymore. It stops at about 63% and says: __del_reloc_root +31 Any idea what do do to get it run? Greetings from Germany Stefan790Views0likes2Comments__del_reloc_root +31
I upgraded my RN316 to firmware 6.7.4, and now the navigation buttons on the front of the device stay lit but don't respond. Prior to the upgrade the buttons didn't light up unless I pressed them, and then they drove menus via the screen. The network admin page works fine, and my data is ok, I'm just wondering why the local controls and display do not work now?Solved3.4KViews0likes5CommentsRN316 Initial setup | X-RAID2 | SSD + HDDs any advantages / disadvantages?
G'day, I've looked around but either my searching is poor or there's nothing that I can find that looks specifically at this. Please feel free to point me at threads that I may have missed if this has already been addressed! I intend to use X-RAID2 as the mixing and matching of HDD sizes is one of the main reasons I went with the RN316 - to use a baseline of HDDs that I already have (empty) and expand as HDDs become cheaper or I need the capacity. I'm just getting around to setting up my ReadyNAS 316 (OS6) for the first time, and have available the following for use in the NAS. I don't need to use all of them, but would like advice on the best mix / order / etc if possible. I have: 1x 256Gb SSD 3x 1TB HDD 2x 2TB HDD 3x 3TB HDD Numerous other smaller HDDs I've read the software and hardware manuals, and again, I may have missed this there, but: 1. Is it worth using an SSD as the first drive, so that the files used by the OS / cache etc live there? 2. Is there an advantage to using a single SSD in the ReadyNASes? 3. Is there a problem with using an SSD (smaller) mixed with HDDs (larger)? 4. Is there a recommended order to adding drives (start with smaller drives and add larger? Start with large and add smaller?) I really think I've missed an obvious post here in the forums, so please point me there if appropriate! Thanks.RN316 - FW 6.6.1 - iSCSI CHAP Broken / Confusion
Hi All, Ever since updating to 6.6.1, we've noticed that all our iSCSI drives, which use CHAP Authentication, keep dropping off / disconnecting. On further investigation it seems that everytime we fix one on the ReadyNAS and go fix another, the previous one has changed, in the sense that the initiator configured on the previous drive, is now the new one configured on this drive. Yes, it sounds confusing, so here's a breakdown. 1) Configure an iSCSI CHAP Login for a specific initiator on iSCSI Drive A 2) Apply that change 3) Confirm that the connection works on the server requiring the iSCSI Drive 4) Configure an iSCSI CHAP Login for a specific initiator on iSCSI Drive B 5) Apply that change 6) Confirm that the connection works on the server requiring the iSCSI Drive B 7) Re-visit the configuration for iSCSI Drive A on the NAS 8) The initiator configured for Drive A now no longer exists, but the initiator for Drive B now exists on Drive A, albeit disabled. 9) Checking the configuration on Drive B exists as normal. 10) Repeat this process to fix Drive A, now Drive B is screwed and has Drive A's config. HELP!!! This is doing my head in!!! Can someone please advise a resolution to this or issue an urgent patch to fix? No feedback on the upload, no error messages…Absolutely nothing. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Safari on OSX 10.11 ThanxSolvedReady NAS not shutting down or rebooting - RN316
Hello folks in the community, I cannot shut down my ReadyNAS gracefully. Over the GUI it hangs on shutdown - the display is showing " Powering Off - Goodbye" I also tried the hardware button method on the front of the RN - but again the display shows "Powering Off- Goodbye" But the system doesn't shut down any further - it is stuck in that status. What else can be done?? Running on OS 6.5.0 - but also had this issue under previous OS once or twice. Update doesn't work over the GUI. Is there another solution than pulling the AC Power Plug?? Starting the webinterface - I can still browse the shares but trying to reboot over the software I/O switch or the hardware button on the frontpanel won't work. Any ideas ? Help greatly appreciated.Error Code
In my NETGEAR ReadyNAS Admin Page under the Network tab the Error Reporter gave me a 4001010016 Code today. I have my home network set-up normally. Router, my PC's, and the RN316 is connected via ethernet to each other. I am having no problems with the internet and users can still download from my RN316. I do have the Anti-Virus app uninstalled. Can someone help me out? Thank you! ;)Solved5.7KViews0likes5Comments
