ReadyNAS Add-ons for Legacy ReadyNAS
1113 TopicsOdd Firefox Behavior on Duo V1
Apologies in advance for the length of this post and numerous screenshots. My Ready Nas is a Duo V1. See pics below. I'm using FF 142.0.1 (but this issue has been going on for a while now. My Duo has the "fix" for the cipher error. My Duo only serves to backup my primary NAS (another brand). It's on a schedule, so it turns on, backups up a bunch of stuff, then shuts down until the next event. While it's backing up, I use FF, to view progress, review the logs to make sure to see what has changed. Sometimes, make an adjustment. It's been setup like this for quite a while and has always worked fine. Until it didn't. This too happened a while ago and I attributed it to something in FF that would go away after a few more updates. I was wrong. So here's what's happening. Launch FF and go to my Duo login page, login and all looks OK. Expand the nav bar to access Backup, select Backup Jobs. The menu will collapse (not go into Backups) and the Home banner will have an extra Duo (ReadyNAS Duo Duo). If I repeat the same steps, same result but I'll have 2 extra Duo's (ReadyNAS Duo Duo Duo). Yet, If I select Time Machine instead, Time Machine page will open OK. If I use the tabs to go to Backup Jobs, then Backup Jobs open OK. I can then view logs etc. This behavior is not limited to Backup. Generally any of the main sections, like Network behave in similar fashion. If I select Network Interfaces, I get another Duo. If I select Global Settings, it opens OK and I can select Interfaces from the Tab and get in OK. Same thing applies to all of the other main sections. Some will close and add a Duo, some will open OK and I can use a tab to navigate back over Now, I launched FF in "troubleshoot mode", reset FF, and even uninstalled FF, cleaned up all the leftovers and did a fresh install with no modes (not even the TLS setting), Same result. So, while a bit aggravating, the cipher fix does allow me to use my other browsers instead. I can use Brave, Chrome, Opera, even Edge (all Chromium) so this issue is not that critical and I've simply used one of them instead of FF. However, my curiosity has gotten the better of me to try to understand why? SO a bunch of screen shots follow. If you've run into this before or have other suggestions, let me know. Looks like I can only add 1 attachment at a a time. Screen when I login.SolvedReadyNAS 424 and CenturyLink C4000XG
Hey Everyone, I have a ReadyNAS 424 and a C4000XT router -- pretty basic setup. Now that ReadyCloud has been discontinued, what is the simplest way to (securely) access my NAS while I'm on the road? How can I login to my NAS without leaving it completely wide open? Is FTP a decent method? I'm open to ideas... thanks in advance! All the Best, JordanReadyNas Pro Pioneer (RNDP600E-100NAS) No longer recognized by Raidar or DLNA Device
As of June 15, 2025, my Roku system (DLNA app), plus RAIDar 4.2.31, and simply using the admin URL are no longer seeing or decting my ReadyNAS. I am on MacOS 15.5 Sequoia. I last accessed the ReadyNAS about a month ago and the Roku DLNA app could see and access my files just fine. I can access the ReadyNAS from a finder window in the MacOS and get to my files. Thank goodness I can access my files, but I cannot stream my media. Any ideas why RAIDar, and the DLNA apps are saying there is no dectable device to access? No apps available on my ReadyNAS102 after a factory reset
I inadvertently did a Factory Reset on my Netgear RadyNAS102 following which I have no apps available and I am unable to do a Firmware update. I have managed to download and install Plex but I really want Logitech Squeezebox server to allow me to access my music using my Logitech Squeezebox Touch. I have been in touch with Netgear support and all they have said is that the Netgear ReadyNAS series are end of life and that since version 6.10.10 they have no longer provided apps and to try reversing to version 6.10.9. As my server is only running version 6.10.7 this does not help. Can anyone assist pleaseSolvedReadyNAS Surveillance license re-activation
I did a factory reset on my trusty Pro Pioneer (RNDP600E) and I thought I had done what I needed to do to keep the license activated - i.e. by keeping a copy of the license number and exporting a license registration file (offline.req) to the PC from within the ReadyNAS Surveillance app. Unfortunately, having done the reset, the ReadyNAS Surveillance app is not letting me re-activate it either: (1) via online registration with the license number - this gives an "error code 11"; or (2) via offline registration - the "OffLineTool.exe" will not generate an offline license file (offline_license.dll) from the exported "offline.req" file and also gives an error code 11. Is there anything I can to avoid / resolve error code 11? Does someone netgear need to do a license reset? Any suggestions to solve this would be greatly appreciated!!!ReadyNAS Ultra 6 RNDU6000 - ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
On a Windows 11 Home laptop, after following many suggested browser fixes with no luck, is there an issue with RAIDar 6.5.0 that will cause "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH" connection error? The original version of RAIDar I used [4.3.8] also fails to work so I updated to 6.5.0. Any suggestions to allow RAIDar to connect to the NAS correctly? Cheers, Bruce.minidlna-1.3.3 on ReadyNAS Duo Sparc
Hello, I was able to install minidlna 1.3.3 with ffmpeg-5.1.6 on my ReadyNAS Duo v1 and wanted to share my experience. The challenges started already at the beginning with ffmpeg when the produced makefile from ./configure could not be processed by the make command of the NAS. I tried multiple older versions of ffmpeg and figured out that I could simply upgrade the make command to a newer version. The next issue occurred during the building of ffmpeg, and the only solution I could find was to disable the affected feature vp9. I think it should be possible to use a newer version of ffmpeg, but since compiling ffmpeg took around a whole day on the QEMU image, I thought this version of ffmpeg was sufficient. There were also some other minor challenges to get minidlna building and running on the NAS, but I finally managed it, and I'm quite happy with the result. I have about 700 movies managed by minidlna. Subtitles, audio, and everything else works fine. So far, I have not stumbled upon a video format that did not work with the UPnP client. If you are interested, I have summarized more details here: https://github.com/mfe-/ReadyNASDuoSparc/blob/master/minidlna-1.3.3/Readme.mdReadyNAS RNDP6000 RND-6B stuck at "ReadyNAS" state when turned on
Good day! There is a problem - ReadyNAS RNDP6000 RND-6B freezes at "ReadyNAS" state when turned on. According to the owner of the device, first the raid disappeared, then the disks were disconnected, and then everything froze. There was no upgrade from OS 4 to 6. Actions taken: 1) Test replacement of the power supply to ATX with 300W did not help 2) The RAM was replaced - did not help 3) Replacing the 2032 battery - did not help 4) Cleaning the cooler and replacing thermal paste - did not help 5) A factory reset is not performed according to the instructions, the system does not react to it in any way Among the anomalies and nuances: 1) On the Flame6 ver: 1.1 motherboard, the red LED1 light is on. I did not find information on this motherboard and, accordingly, documentation to understand the reason. 2) Also, when starting up, the LAN1,2 light does not light up, so I also cannot access the device via the network. 3) The Backup light is on. Please tell me in which direction to dig on this problem?SolvedRN 102 Unable to see NAS drive
So this morning, I couldn't access my ReadyNAS 102 from my Windows 10 PC - the power ON LED was flashing regularly, the activity light was on solid but the Disk 1, DIsk 2 and Backup LEDs were off. This happens sometimes, and I just have to power it down the non-preferred way (power off at wall), as it has locked itself up and the power button is already flashing. So, I turned the NAS back on at the power socket and i had the same problem. I then tried the two things that I usually do: 1. I entered the drive path (\\sponge\...) in File Manager and it usually finds the NAS and then "mounts" it (sorry, not really the right term, but it basically appears back in file manager the way I would expect it). This works 99% of the time. 2. If it doesn't, I confirm the IP address of the NAS with my broadband router, and try to access the NAS by entering the IP address in my web browser. This usually brings up the NAS web interface, but this time a connection problem was reported (see attached screenshot 1). So, I read the manual and decided to undertake a reset (not a factory reset) but an OS reset using the boot menu. I followed the procedure, I selected the disk 2 LED ON option and confirmed with the reset button. The power on LED flashed much faster for 3-5 seconds and then it just started flashing as before. I still cannot see the NAS. So, I downloaded RAIDar from the Netgear website to see if it could at least find the NAS, and it has, but it states that the drives are formatted in a previous version and that they need to be formatted, see screenshot 2. I am definitely not doing that as I need the data. I pulled the drives and re-scanned and it updated to state that there were no drives, so I know RAIDar is working correctly. I have no backup as I thought having a mirrored RAID would mean i wouldn't have such a problem (not the case I know now), so my questions are these: 1. Does anyone have any experience that might help me understand why this message is coming up in RAIDar? 2. Is there anything else I can try with my current ReadyNAS 102 and drive combination? Given the above is it even worth trying the "Volume Read" boot menu option? 3. If I buy an identical RN102 from a reseller for a cheap price (I have found one), will I be able to migrate the drives or will i face the same problem? 4. As a last resort, even if the RN102 can't read the drives, if I remove one of them and connect it directly to my PC via a USB3.1 to SATA cable, should I be able to read it outside of the NAS? Many thanks in advance for any help offered
