Hi all, Hoping someone can help me safely recover my data array. Details below: MODEL: ReadyNAS RN626X, 6 disks, RAID 5, ~18TB data (OS 6) TIMELINE: 1. Admin password stopped working unexpectedly. 2. I pressed the physical reset button on the back of the unit (short press). This did not fix the password, but it did reset the network settings to DHCP (IP address changed). 3. To recover the admin password, I performed a proper OS reinstall via the boot menu (Reset + Power, held until boot menu appeared, selected "OS reinstall"). This successfully reset admin/password to defaults and I could log into the web interface again. 4. However, after logging in: - System > Volumes shows "data-0" as Healthy (green), RAID 5, Data 18.17TB, Free 0 — looks intact. - There's also a second entry called "data" (blue), 0TB, RAID unknown — assume this is a fresh empty placeholder from the reinstall. - System > Shares shows a warning: "No volume exists. Navigate to System -> Volumes page to create a volume." 5. I have NOT clicked "create a volume" or removed any disks, since I'm worried this could format/wipe the existing array. 6. Tried a normal system reboot (not another OS reinstall) — same result persists. DOWNLOADED LOGS — mdstat.log shows only two arrays: md0 : active raid1 (6 disks) — 4GB, this looks like the OS partition md1 : active raid10 (6 disks) — ~1.5GB, created Jul 10 2026, likely a system/swap partition There is NO third array shown for the actual ~18TB data volume. All 6 disks show as active/clean in both md0 and md1, so I don't believe there's a hardware/disk failure — it looks like the data array simply isn't currently assembled after the OS reinstall. QUESTION: Is it safe to manually reassemble the missing data array via mdadm/SSH, and if so, could someone walk me through the correct approach for OS 6 (BTRFS-based) so I don't make things worse? I have not attempted any commands yet — waiting for guidance before touching anything. Happy to post the full mdstat.log output, disk info, or other log files on request. Thanks in advance for any help!51Views0likes4CommentsReady NAS RN102 - Remplacement
Hi guys, completely new here. I've just purchased a Netgear ReadyNAS 214 and just setting it up now. I'd like to install Docker on it and from what I've learned so far, Mhynlo has put in a bit of work on getting this to work. I've tried downloading the latest stable and pre-release versions from here: https://github.com/Mhynlo/readynas-docker-cli Unfortunately, I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to install. I keep getting an "Cannot install application docker-cli-rnapp" error message. Help? My goal is to have my ReadyNAS spin up icloud_photos_downloader (https://github.com/ndbroadbent/icloud_photos_downloader) pull files from iCloud on a scheduled basis to backup to storage on the NAS. It's a different approach than ReadyCLOUD and it gives me more control over how files are backed up: An app also doesn't have to be installed (and managed by the end user) Backups are initiated from server-side and not client-side on the device Backups are not managed on the device, which can be confusing for a non-technical end user Delete older content from iCloud if it is already backed up to NAS; This maximizes the use of cloud storage space Any help greatly appreciated!Dopo aggiornamento ReadyNas admin page is offline
Grazie EnricoSolved3.2KViews0likes2CommentsSickRage taken over update no longer works, use SickChill
Not sure who noticed that after an update Sickrage stopped working, if you then try to download a new version you land on the sickrage.ca page. If you install that version and want to access the GUI you are redirected to that site where you have to create a login. This page is maintained by a different person echelon, who initially added cryptocurrencyminig to both his site and to the SickRage code. This is part of a long running dispute between echelon and the people who maintaned the code the last couple of years. This group has now forked SickRage and created SickChill, less rage more chill! Myhnlo created an updated installer linking to the SickChill git repo: https://github.com/Mhynlo/readynas-sickchill/releases/tag/201810.15-ml0 DaveSearch Option not Visible in Settings
Running firmware 6.9.4, so up-to-date. I'm trying to turn on Search, so I can search files on my NAS. I've followed the instructions ->System->Settings->Services, but there is no search option to enable under settings? Any assistance appreciated.Solved3.2KViews0likes6CommentsReadyNAS 314 Length of Scrub Maintenance
Hi, I've looked through the previous answers re how long it takes for a Scrub to complete. Most seem to point to turning off Quotas which I don't have enabled. From volume.log the Scrub took almost 8 days to complete: data scrub 2018-10-01 23:00:01 2018-10-08 08:27:32 pass I'm running 2 x 3TB drives and 1 x 4TB drive in an X-RAID configuration 1 x WDC WD40EFRX 2 x ST3000DM001 Any thoughts or ideas on how to speed this up would be appreciated. I run the Scrub job once every 6 months and they generally take about this long. Performance of my ReadyNAS 314 is very much affected, I can barely use it while the Scrub job is running. Do you have any experience with Bareos on Readynas OS6? Everything works perfect except bareos-webui. I set Apache alias /bareos-webui /usr/share/bareos-webui/public/, so default login page will be displayed, but after login redirect me to MYSERVER/bareos-webui/dashboard/ with this: The requested URL /bareos-webui/dashboard/ was not found on this server.
