ReadyNAS OS 6
114 TopicsMono 5.0 works (+ Jackett install)
I'm not sure if it's related to the 6.8.0 firmware update, but Mono 5.0 now installs very nicely overtop older versions. I just followed the directions for the Debian 8 install here: http://www.mono-project.com/download/#download-lin-debian And it installed no problem. Sonarr and Radarr continue to work perfectly. I was able to install Jackett (https://www.htpcguides.com/install-jackett-debian-linux-custom-torrents-sonarr/) In fact, the whole reason I installed Mono 5.0 is because Jackett prefers newer versions than the 4.0.? (sorry, can't remember exact version) that was available to ReadyNAS previously.UniFi Controller on ReadyNAS 6.7.5 (Installation Guide)
I followed Snooker's Guide here, but had to manually install Java as installing via apt-get didn't work for me. These instructions are step-by-step, for those people who not familar with Linux. Install UniFi Controller on ReadyNAS 6.7.5 Enable SSH on System/Settings Screen SSH into your server using an application like Putty. Once you are logged in follow the instructions below. Make sure the ReadyNAS is fully updated: apt-get update Manually install Java 7 SDK Download Java 7 SDK (jdk-7u80-linux-i586.tar.gz) I downloaded off this site as Oracle wants me to register to download (Nope!) http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/funtoo/distfiles/oracle-java/ Copy the file to the Documents Share on ReadyNAS cd /opt mkdir jdk cd jdk mv /media/Documents/jdk-7u80-linux-i586.tar.gz . Extract the tarball tar -zxf jdk-7u80-linux-i586.tar.gz -C /opt/jdk Java will be installed in: jdk1.7.0_80 To set it as the default JVM on your machine: update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/java 100 and update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/javac javac /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/javac 100 Verify the Java has been successfully Installed: update-alternatives --display java Outout should be: java - auto mode link currently points to /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/java /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/java - priority 100 Current 'best' version is '/opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/java'. and update-alternatives --display javac Outout should be: javac - auto mode link currently points to /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/javac /opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/javac - priority 100 Current 'best' version is '/opt/jdk/jdk1.7.0_80/bin/javac'. Install UniFi Controller Add Ubiquiti Repository: echo "deb http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/unifi/debian unifi5 ubiquiti" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt.list Add Ubiquiti Key: apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv C0A52C50 Output Should be (if everything was done correctly): Executing: /tmp/tmp.KlgnXZZ9mK/gpg.1.sh --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv C0A52C50 gpg: requesting key C0A52C50 from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com gpg: key C0A52C50: public key "UniFi Developers <unifi-dev@ubnt.com>" imported gpg: Total number processed: 1 gpg: imported: 1 (RSA: 1) Make sure the ReadyNAS has loaded the new repository: apt-get update Now we are ready to download and install UniFi: apt-get install unifi Press "Y" and <ENTER> to continue Unifi Controller will now download and install. This will take a few minutes. Copy the origional systemd service file to /etc/systemd/system so it will start on boot: cp -p /lib/systemd/system/unifi.service /etc/systemd/system Move unifi (located at /var/lib) to an area with more diskspace: cd /var/lib mv unifi /apps ln -s /apps/unifi unifi Start the UniFi Controller: systemctl start unifi.service Access the UniFi Controller User Interface via a web browser: https://<IP_of_your_ReadyNAS>:8443 The UniFi Setup Wizard should now be displayed Before proceeding, lets enable log rotation so your server's diskspace doesn't fill up! Stop the UniFi Service: systemctl stop unifi.service Now paste the following: bash -c 'cat >> /etc/logrotate.d/unifi << EOF /var/log/unifi/*.log { rotate 5 daily missingok notifempty compress delaycompress copytruncate } EOF' Then press <ENTER> You will not get any sort of message. Just the typical bash prompt. Restart UniFi or better yet, restart your ReadyNAS and validate the UniFi Service starts automatically and begin configuring the UniFi Controller and adding access points! --Good Luck--DropboxManager 1.1.4 (R6x86)

Not sure who noticed that after an update Sickrage stopped working, if you then try to download a new version you land on the sickrage.ca page. If you install that version and want to access the GUI you are redirected to that site where you have to create a login. This page is maintained by a different person echelon, who initially added cryptocurrencyminig to both his site and to the SickRage code. This is part of a long running dispute between echelon and the people who maintaned the code the last couple of years. This group has now forked SickRage and created SickChill, less rage more chill! Myhnlo created an updated installer linking to the SickChill git repo: https://github.com/Mhynlo/readynas-sickchill/releases/tag/201810.15-ml0 DaveREADYNAS 204 cant remove Piwigo App
Hi everyone, although I have been using Netgear READYNAS for a number of years and now on my second one (an RN 204) I am a newbie on this Forum so please treat me gently. :-) :-) I have been running the Piwigo app V2.5.3 on my 204 for a while but after the recent upgrade to the 6.6.0 OS Piwigo no longer works. When you go to start the App it just puts up a whole bunch of code lines and nothing happens. I have tried getting rid of Piwigo using the "Remove" command associated with it but all that seems to have happened is that some of the lines of code have disappeared. On my most recent removal attempt the Piwigo picture has vanished and I still get a message saying that the App itself can't be removed. Maybe this removal process is like the death of a thousand cuts?? :-) :-) When I looked at the App page I have also noted that Piwigo is no longer available so no help there with an upgrade. I hope that someone might have some sage words of advice for me on this problem which is an annoyance in what otherwise has been a good experience with these products. I recently set up my ReadyNAS 312 with a USB tuner and Tvheadend to share the live TV signal across the network. It is all set up now and works great. The ReadyNAS did not have the required kernel modules (drivers) to support the TV tuner included by default. So to get the TV tuner recognised I had to compile them. It took a bit of time to back up the NAS, restore the factory settings, compile the kernel and then make the modules so thought I would share them here if anybody else needs them. They should work on all x86_64 systems running version firmware 6.5.2 and should be useful for other mutimedia hardware devices such as webcams and remote controllers etc. There are 2 zip folders, the first is the factory default kernel modules compiled when all the multimedia options are enabled. The second is the stock kernel with the latest V4L-DVB back ported and compiled into the modules. Copy the drivers folder to: /lib/modules/4.1.27.x86_64.1/kernel/ and the firmware folder to /lib/ and them run depmod. https://mega.nz/#!Td9yXbBR!o9F-ZA4jFK-0Gk6Khve7IqsVZqRn6qkOmYOjfv0kuMA https://mega.nz/#!GUlWVTiL!xNwKbjXS3aBwmpMa28Qg-3G2Q8xFir4j6fZ3UvzBnMMGit on ReadyNAS
Hello Community, I am trying to configure my ReadyNAS 104 to run a private Git Server but I am getting boggled down on some of the instructions that I have found in various forums in the internet. Most of the things I find on the internet are either outdated instructions or have links that are no longer active. Can someone lay out a procedure for me, please? Instructions preferably for Mac OS, but other procedures are more than welcome since I need a place to start. Thank you so much in advance, Best :)uTorrent App for ReadyNAS OS 6 (Intel) coming soon
I have been working on the utorrent server (utserver) for a little bit and I think the app is getting ready for submitting. For the people that are interested in the uTorrent app: https://github.com/Mhynlo/rn-utorrent/releases/download/3.3.30470/utserver_3.3.30470_amd64.deb What do you think?
