Hi All, I have a pretty new ReadyNAS 104 system (August, 2015). Currently populated with 3 x 4TB WD RED drives, and a single Segate 3TB drive (to be upgraded once funds allow). Since upgrading to FW 6.4.0 I have found that the system will hang whenever a maintenance process is performed - Scub, Balance or Defrag, which I had scheduled previously. I have now disabled all the schedules and left the system alone, but overnight it has hung again, after approximately 72 hours of normal operation. It responds to pings, but the GUI will not load, it has dropped off the network via all protocols, fails to allow you to SSH into it and pressing the power button (Once, twice and three times) has absolutely no effect. The only option is to pull the plug. Also, after every hang, forcing a power pull, the system starts a complete resync of the volume, which always starts at 25.10% and takes about 4 days to complete over the 15TB of raw storage. Obviously this is putting undue strain on the disks everytime it is happening. Happy to provide logs to any friendly Netgear Admins, and any advice from any of you lovely people would be gratefully received.
Danke für Hinweise.6.7KViews1like7CommentsSupport LACP L2+L3 hashing on XS series switches
The XS series switches only support L2 hashing with LACP (802.3ad), apparently only the managed switches support anything beyond L2. The ReadyNAS units support L2, L2+L3, and L2+L3+L4 out of the box. Could the upper tier web managed switches please have at least L2+L3 support added? I'm not talking about going crazy and adding more than that. Should be a relatively minor change, the UI changes would likely be more involved than the protocol changes. It should be a big benefit to the ReadyNAS users.11KViews1like1CommentFactory default to RAID6 on 6 drive units?
Apparently factory default to RAID5 is still standard on 6-bay units, even with ReadyOS 6.6+. I realize most customers might not want/need this, but the work of allowing the factory install complete, destroying the volume, creating a Flex-RAID RAID6 volume, then converting it: Takes a substantial amount of time, both for the hardware and customer Likely results in sub-optimal volume layout Can't the OS just provide a selectable option on Factory Default? Advice, suggestions, etc.?2.9KViews1like9CommentsReadyNAS front-end e back-end
Grazie in anticipo!Solved3.5KViews1like3CommentsTips for merging photos and movies from multiple cameras and renaming to a common date format
Sharing my command line use of Exiftool to rename my photos and movies from multiple sources so I can merge them and create a common media library. Examples of this, including the format of media that occur in the same second: 2016-06-16 19.28.01.jpg 2016-06-16 19.28.02-1,jpg 2016-06-16 19.28.02-2.jpg 2016-06-26 11.06.08.mov Here is what I do at the command line after changing to the directory containing the media to be renamed: -- Start by renaming photos with a JPG extension -- Use the EXIF CreateDate or "Date Taken" "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<CreateDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" IMG*.jpg -- Then rename photos with a PNG extension - but these probably don't have EXIF data but try anyway -- Use the EXIF CreateDate or "Date Taken" "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<CreateDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" *.png -- then rename the photos using the file system dates (a little dangerous) for any reamining ones -- use the FileModifyDate "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<FileModifyDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" "IMG*.JPG" "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<FileModifyDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" "IMG*.PNG" -- RENAME movies using TrackCreateDate "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileModifyDate<TrackCreateDate" "-FileName<TrackCreateDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" *.mov "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileModifyDate<TrackCreateDate" "-FileName<TrackCreateDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" *.mp4 "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileModifyDate<TrackCreateDate" "-FileName<TrackCreateDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" *.WMV -- if no EXIF data for movies, use file system information. change prefix to limit to files not yet changes "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<FileModifyDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" IMG*.mov "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<FileModifyDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" IMG*.avi "C:\Program Files (x86)\exiftool-9.78\exiftool(-k).exe" "-FileName<FileModifyDate" -d "%Y-%m-%d %H.%M.%S%%-c.%%e" vid*.wmv2.6KViews1like1CommentReadycloud 1.5.9 File Dates changed to today for images and movies without EXIF data
I've seen similar posts but without a solution. Using Readycloud 1.5.9 on an iPhone 6S, iOS 10.2. Files synch well if EXIF data exists on the photos which includes those taken with internal camera. Unfortunately images that are screen shot or taken within apps like snapchat are uploaded without the original File Create and File Modify date. Movies taken with the internal camera and within apps also are reset to the upload File Modify and File Create date. Therefore all movies, screen captures, and app movies and images are now dated today's date. Need a solution or this app isn't useful at all. Hola!
