Hi, I have a ReadyNas DUO RND2000 V2. After having it moved, it will no longer start when the harddrive is incerted. Nothing happens. It simply doesn´t start. If I remove the disk, the ReadyNas starts and the blue lamp starts blinking as it should. What is wrong ? And how do I get access to my harddrive? Thanks in advance Bjorn674Views0likes0CommentsReadyNAS RND2000 v2 Accesso ad interfaccia amministratore locale
I guess better communicate in English! Well I am facing unaccessibie local administrator page. Nas actually connected cascading on a switc/router with static IP. The Nas has been resetted to intial condition and OS reinstalled. It shows two predefined folders. It is visible if scanned in the lan, how ever is not possible to access as administrator. The scope is to transfer on it folders to be shared by three PC's in network. So far I am not sure it will fullfill my scope. Any suggestion ?
Hi Folks, I have an RND2000 which appears to have failed, flashing Blue light and not recognised by Raidar. I am looking to replace it with a 4 bay unit, RN42400. If I move the drives from the RND2000 to the new RN42400 unit will the data be recognised and available? Also, can I then add drives to the new unit to increase the overall storage? No access to shares after disabling SMB1 as recommended by Microsoft
In view of the latest WannaCry/Crypt attack on 12 May 2017, Microsoft recommended to patch my Windows 10 OS and disable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support. Check this link: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-smb1-windows So I disabed SMB1 and now, I lost access to all my shares on my RND2000V2. Since I had to access my NAS shares, I have re-enabled SMB1, but now I also have a security hole. Does anyone know (including NETGEAR tech staff) how to access the network shares with SMB1 disabled? Currently, I cannot achieve this and can only think that a firmware upgrade would do this to use either SMB2 or SMB3. My current firmware is 5.3.12 (latest).2.6KViews0likes0CommentsDNS Proxy - do I need it?
For a while now, I have been using the DNS Proxy feature of the UTM5 so that the PCs that connect to my network using DHCP can get the UTM's LAN IP as their DNS server which then acts as a proxy for my ISP's DNS servers. This all works fine. I am now introducing a DNS server to my LAN for internal name resolution only. So I have set it up to forward any DNS requests for external name resolution to my ISP's DNS servers and switched off the DNS Proxy feature in the UTM5. In my UTM5's LAN / DHCP settings I have included my internal DNS server's IP so that DHCP clients get this automatically. To my mind this should all work. However, I am finding that web pages now load much more slowly. Also, if I go back to my original LAN / DHCP settings with DNS Proxy selected, but put the internal DNS server's IP manually in a PC's NIC setting, performance goes back to normal and internal name resolution still works. So, I am a bit confused. Do I still need to run the DNS proxy for my setup?4.5KViews0likes0CommentsReadyNASOS 6.10.0-RC1
