automatically boot and shutdown for backup
Hallo, i have a ReadyNAS 516 with my data and a old ReadyNAS314 which i want to use for backup. I got it running and backing up fine. But i cant find a option to shutdown RN314 after backup is finished. I found the power timer. But this allows me just to start up at a time (okay, thats what i want) and shut down at a time (this i dont want). Is there a way to tell RN314 to shut down after the backup is finished (and not too early)? Thank you Lennardo6.6KViews0likes7Comments
Plex - adding third party channels.
I have successfully installed Plex from the admin interface. I've set up the folders for scanning and the system stems to be working correctly. I've placed my music there, and can access it from external plex players. I did the default installation. (I say that to say it appears to be working fine.) I would like to add third party channels. Is there away to use the ReadyNAS interface to drop the files in to the proper folder (with in the Plex install)? I have temporarilly enabled SSH, since this appears to be the only method. I have access, but it would appear the admin account does not have WRITE access to the proper folder. How do I change permissions, if this account doesn't have them already? I've been using my ReadyNas for over two years now with no issues, within the last 6 months it has begun to make files "disappear" until the entire drive is rebooted (this involves saving and closing all documents that are connected to the drive, quitting all programmes, relaunching the finder window, ejecting the drive itself, disconnecting myself then re-entering my log-in details. Pretty tedious when you have to do this three times a day) We have 5 people working off the ReadyNas, if someone creates a folder on their computer and asks me to access a file within that folder I follow the chain of folders to its location and can see the folder. Once I click on the folder is automatically disappears. This folder can be seen on others computers but not mine until the drive is ejected and rebooted. This happens to all five of us when someone creates a new folder / saves down a new file. Any suggestions, tips or thoughts would be hugely appreciated. Migrate from ReadyNAS 314 to ReadyNAS 516
Hello, I am looking to migrate my 4 disks from my ReadyNAS 314 to purchasing a new ReadyNAS 516. Can someone provide me step by step instructions on what I need to do to move over? Will my app structure stay intact, Plex Media Server, SickRage etc, or do I have to re-install those apps? Is it as easy as moving the 4 existing disks one by one to the ReadyNAS 516 and everything will be exactly as it was? That would be great! Any advice is appreciated.
