4 TopicsSHARED FILES PARTIALLY DOWNLOAD
Hello all, I have [what Ithink] is a strange problem. I shared a link to a file on my RN204 and the file only partially downloads. It shows the filename and the associated icon, however the file size is only about 300-400 kb and willnot open. This has worked in the past, appoximately a month or so ago, but now I am having this issue. Even the links to files that were working weeks ago have this same issue. Now just for full disclosure, I HAVE been dicking around with the folder admin settings...don't ask me which settings...yeah I know I'm not helping much. Anyone have any idea how I got myself into this mess and how I can get out of it? Regards!2.9KViews0likes3CommentsReady NAS connectivity backup and sync issues
Please excuse my ramblings. With more knowledge I could be more concise. I am trying to use the ReadyNAS Cloud App to synchronise files and folders (and backup) a PC over the internet with Windows 7 In the past, on occasions, I have been able to access and use the NAS with the App and have it sync the files with my PC (working as I believe it should work) However: Issue 1 (intermittent) Sometimes I have had problems with my App initialising. Clicking the app button in the tray, Initialising starts off the box disappears and then nothing happens. However if I go via the Web Portal I can see and access my files. Issue 2 (intermittent) When the Ready Cloud App does connect and I can see the NAS and the Files on the NAS. The App tries to sync then shows a red cross when it decides it has failed to sync. the folders. If I try to look, open or explore the files by clicking on a NAS Folder in the app I get the following PC message: User Account Control Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer C:\windows\Syswow64\explorer.exe \\2.204.86.62\"my local file name on readynas" There is also a yellow triangle obscuring part of the tray icon. 2.204.86.62 is not the IP address of my ReadyNas. Is this an official "portal" for ReadyNas? (Upon a Google search it came up with the IP location in an uninhabited wooded area of Hungary according to Google Maps. However I think this might be spurious.) How do I know if syswow64\explorer.exe \\2.204.86.62\"my local file name on readynas" is safe and not hijacked by hacker etc. Can I allow the changes. Also sometimes I get the red cross for sync. with "off line, Readycloud is not available". However if I go via the Web Portal I can see and access my files. I assume this is part of the same issue. Issue 3 (intermittent) When I can access the NAS folders and the App confirms it has synchronised the folders with green tick, the synchronisation is not working. Looking at the file it is still recorded at an historical date. Even if I make changes to the file on the remote PC and save them they are not updated/synced. All three issues seem to occur on random days by which I mean there appears to be no pattern. However the last sync date that I have is 8 October 2015 ie it hasn't worked properly since then. Even though the App shows a green tick sync up to date Any help would be greatly appreciated6.8KViews0likes17CommentsInviting users via READYCloud
I have set up various user accounts on my ReadyNAS and want to allow them to access their home folders remotely using ReadyCLOUD. I logged onto ReadyCLOUD, clicked the home folder for user X and pressed SHARE as suggested here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyCLOUD/Where-is-the-invite-user-on-the-ReadyCLOUD-web-site/td-p/946611 However, I get this message "You cannot share without selecting a share folder". I'm confused ... Is there another way to invite a user ? I don't really want to create any extra shares All suggestions gratefully received6.5KViews0likes15Comments
