Backup jobs are scheduled in FrontView and they have been running fine for a few years now. All of a sudden, say 3 weeks ago, I started getting these errors on both drives. I took them both to a PC and ran chkdsk /f which found and repaired errors on both. I put the T-Th back on the NAS and performed a small test backup - success. That nigh, as scheduled, success. The M-W-F drive was then swapped in and the backup failed. I took it againg to chkdsk /f, errors were again found and repaired. Chksdk /f again for good measue, no errors detected. Put drive back into NAS and test backup failed with the same messages again. I will put the T-Th one in tomorrow and see what happens. I am perplexed. Any ideas? Greetings... I apologize if this has already been covered elsewhere, but I am out-of-space and need some solutions. I have a 4-bay ReadyNAS314 running Raid5 with 3x 3TB drives and a single 4TB drive... Giving me 8.16TB of storage. I am a professional photographer and I have chewed through all of my space. I know that larger drives are now on the market... Can I simply pull one of the 3TB drives (or two) and add a 5TB or 6TB drive? Without losing data? If not, anyone have a solution (other than purchasing the expansion box)? Then... Backing up... I need to start backing files up and taking them offsite. The cloud is not an option as my files are too large. Anyone have a suggestion for a straightforward way of backing up my NAS data to an external drive which can be stored off site? Please advise.2KViews0likes1CommentUSB Hard Stop responding after few hours
I have a ReadyNAS 102 device and have 2 x 1TB hard disks in it. It backs up the home directory of our linux server. I enabled X-Raid and formated in Ext3. When i try to backup the whole NAS device using "Data" volume to the USB hard disk, 1. It begins the copy process. 2. Few hours later the USB hard disk's access light lit up and it is not blinking which letting me know that it is not responding or stucked. 3. Web panel not responding. 4. But I can access NAS driver over windows explorer. 5. Even if I unplug the USB drive then, I cannot access the Web panel. What would be the problem and how to fix this matter.Solved4.7KViews0likes10Comments
