Product: RS600 (Nighthawk Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7) Feature request: Enable Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for client devices. This idea is to enable client‑side Multi-Link Operation on the RS600 so that phones and laptops which support Wi‑Fi 7 with MLO (e.g. iPhone 17 Pro) can use a single SSID that bonds the 5 GHz and 6 GHz radios. Apple, Qualcomm and other vendors highlight MLO as a key feature of Wi‑Fi 7 to reduce latency and improve throughput. Netgear’s own materials mention MLO on the Nighthawk Wi‑Fi 7 series, but so far there is no way to enable it on the RS600. Why it matters: – Competing brands (e.g. ASUS ROG/ZenWiFi, TP‑Link) already have MLO working for clients. – Netgear’s Orbi 970/370 mesh uses MLO on the backhaul, demonstrating that the underlying hardware and firmware can support it. – Devices like the iPhone 17 Pro, Galaxy S24 Ultra and recent laptops support MLO. Without MLO enabled on the router, those devices can only connect to a single band at a time. Environment / version: RS600 running firmware v1.0.5.12 (August 2025) in France. Case number 49306330 is already open with support regarding this issue. I would love to help test a beta firmware and provide Speedtest results showing the difference between single‑link and MLO. Please consider enabling client‑side MLO on RS600 and adding an option to configure it in the web/mobile UI.eSim for Nighthawk wlan router
Are there plans to equip a mobile Wi-Fi router, e.g. the Nighthawk, with an eSIM? We equip streamers and content creators with mobile devices. Many of them are on the move and cross national borders quite often (e.g. every two weeks). It is tedious to find the respective telephone provider in each country, obtain the physical SIM card and install it, when there are already simpler solutions available, such as providers like Saily, which make the change much easier. We are currently planning to convert another vehicle and equip it with the appropriate Wi-Fi availability.10Views0likes0Commentsrealtime bandwidth monitoring by device
It would be great if you could see realtime bandwidth per device for the netgear r7000, similar to Google Wifi and Eero. It would be a really useful info and diagnostic tool to see what devices are currently taking up bandwidth. It would be great if this was added to the router web administration page as well theNetgear Genie and/or Netgear Up apps. I've attached a screenshot of how this feature looks on Google Wifi.26KViews93likes15CommentsNighthawh M6 Pro SMS send feature request
Dear Netgear Dev Team, I hope you’re doing well! I’m writing to share some feedback and request a feature enhancement for the Nighthawk M6 Pro mobile router (on the latest firmware as of now - NTGX65_12.01.54.00). First of all, I want to express how pleased I am with the device — it’s very well-built, reliable, and offers excellent connectivity options for staying online while traveling. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into its design and functionalit That being said, I’ve noticed that the device currently lacks one key feature that is essential for my needs: the ability to send SMS messages. Allow me to explain why this feature is important to me. My mobile operator provides high-speed internet up to a daily limit of 10 GB. After reaching this limit, the connection speed drops dramatically to 64 Kbps, which effectively renders internet access unusable on modern devices. To continue enjoying high-speed access, I must send an SMS to a short service number provided by my operator, which then grants me an additional 10 GB. Without the ability to send SMS from the router, I’m unable to extend my high-speed access easily and have to switch SIM cards between devices or find other inconvenient workarounds. I completely understand that integrating new features into the user interface can take time. As an experienced user, I would even be perfectly satisfied if this functionality were initially made available through an API or command-line access — any way to programmatically send SMS messages from the device would be immensely helpful. Thank you very much for considering my request! I believe that adding this feature would significantly enhance the user experience for people like me who rely on mobile data extensively. I’m happy to provide any additional information or feedback if needed. Wishing you continued success with this great product! This is a call for developers to include some more granular control over the Orbi 770, to include some of the controls seem in previous netgear routers the more upvotes the better please: Fast Roaming (802.11k/v/r) Helps reduce Wi-Fi bouncing between APs Band Steering toggle Forces clients to stay on optimal band (2.4 vs 5 GHz) Per-band SSID naming Used for testing roaming & band selection stability IGMP Snooping toggle Controls multicast flooding, useful for smart home QoS (Quality of Service) Prioritizes certain traffic (streaming, voice, etc.) Power output Adjust the strength of the wifi radio Client steering control Lets you force devices to specific APs or bands Individual device roaming controls Prevents sticky client behavior Individual band controls Granular control over each Band Channel width control for 5 GHz Locking to 80 MHz or 40 MHz instead of 160 MHz Wi-Fi DFS toggle (Radar Channel Control) Helps avoid radar interference on DFS channels13Views0likes0CommentsBring back the ERASE button KB Articles
The following KB Articles had been working and were very valuable for user troubleshooting and also offers easier way to factory reset NETGEAR Nighthawk and Orbi systems: https://kb.netgear.com/24233/How-do-I-erase-the-configuration-settings-on-my-Nighthawk-router https://kb.netgear.com/000062081/How-do-I-erase-the-configuration-settings-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-System These two KB articles have been removed for unknown reasons. We would like to see them returned to public review and use as they are handy to have and point users too and does provide a alternative way to factory reset NETGEAR routers and MESH systems. Handy in that for MESH systems, it avoids having a user to manually walk around, find and manually press the reset button on satellites that are deployed. Using the ERASE button triggers a factory reset routine on both deployed satellites and the main router unit. Please bring this two KB articles back for public use. I would recommend updating them to reflect how the factory reset process works for MESH systems.15Views0likes0CommentsAP Isolation Feature
I purchased the most expensive mobile hotspot router in the world with around 1000$, and I didn't find this basic feature which is available in 200$ in other mobile routers brands like HUAWEI. I am requesting that AP Isolation feature must be added to this model MR6550 and by default to disable UPnp.
