Just wondering if anyone knows for sure...
I found an old XAV1004 Ethernet powerline switch, but couldn't find the powerline adapters that it came with... Would it still work as a normal ethernet switch or splitter if I plugged the XAV1004 into the wall (so it would have power) and then connected my cable-router modem to one of the ports (thus allowing the other 4 ports to have internet signals as well, allowing me more devices be connected via LAN)? Would this concept work? Or do you recommend I buy another switch as I have 6 devices I prefer to be connected via LAN rather than using Wifi and they are all close enough to my Cable-modem router? Any suggestions as I don't really even know how switches work; but hope to have more LAN devices than Wifi, as generally LAN speeds are better than Wifi... Thanks
