I have used a gmail account as my alert destination for years. After recently failing to receive a set of "volume scrubbing" alert that I receive monthly, I tested the email configuration. The test resulted in the "Unable to contact SMTP host. Please check your entry." message. I checked the gmail settings to confirm they were correct. I then switched the alert email account to an iCloud email account, which I configured as a custom email account using the settings provided by Apple. Same test result (Unable to contact SMTP host . . .). I only recently updated to RAIDiator 4.2.30 but can't claim definitely that the email issue coincided with that update. Any help appreciated.Solved5.2KViews0likes4CommentsAny way to turn off power alerts?
Now that all our backup jobs are working properly, our 104 is on a nightly power timer. Is there any way to turn off the daily "The system is shutting down." emails I'm getting now? The check box for this is grayed out: I want to keep getting email alerts but don't need a daily reminder that the power timer is working properly. Any suggestions? I have two ReadyNAS Ultra Plus 2's and two ReadyNAS Ultra 2's Three of my units are using the same gmail acct to send alerts. The fourth unit will NOT save the contact information. Under contacts I choose Gmail and enter the information. It says it saves it sometimes, but then depopulates the user and password field. Sometimes it says it cannot contact the SMTP server. The information in the fields is identical to the other three units including the advanced information section. All four units are running FrontView 4.2.27. This issue has persisted for a while through several versions. I had left it set to use it's own "Internal" mail server, but recently I changed ISP's and the "Internal" server no longer works. I do notice one difference on the screens between this unit and the other three. When I click advanced options on the three that work, the "From" box is editable, but on the unit in question the "From" box is populated with the Gmail username when I enter it there and is grayed out. The information in the "From" box is the same as the other three units. When I enter the information and press apply, on the occasions that is says it saved the information, the logs indicate that the contact information was saved, but it is not. It depopulates everything except the "Alert Contacts", "Email Provider" ANY advice would be appreciated - except suggesting that I set gmail to "allow less secure apps" since it is clearly working with the other three units. I've upgraded several of my customers RN2120 Ready-Nas units to 6.5.1. Now it seems I cannot send email alerts to more than 2 contacts. If I add a third contact, and click send test message and apply, no one gets the email notification but it says "test message sent" If I take out the third contact, and try agin both email contacts get the message. Also, it keeps reverting to the first contact on the list as the sender.2.5KViews0likes2Comments
