boot menu
3 TopicsNetgear NV+ v2 frozen
Further to my issue of last year (https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/ReadyNas-NV-v2-stuck-on-boot-menu-RND4000-200AJS/td-p/1077463) my ReadyNAS has decided to freeze again. This time, after a cold shutdown (wife accidentally pulled out the cable), the NAS will not restart and gets stuck at the Boot Menu. Hitting Backup just scrolls to Normal, but nothing else happens. I have tried the same tricks as last time. - Removed all drives, inserted unformatted scratch disk, rebooted. Nothing. - Factory Reset option is not available. - Holding down reset button does nothing. - I cannot see the NAS in Raidar even if I connect a network cable directly into it. I am about to throw it in the bin. So tired of how touchy it is. Is there another way to factory reset the chassis? I know the data on my storage drives is ok. I have been using it fine until the accidental power plug incident. Any assistance would be appreciated!2.9KViews0likes2CommentsCorrupt boot - Factory Reset not working
Hi! I have a the RND2000v2 and it will not load. Using the most up to date version of RAIDar it tells me I have a Corrupt Boot. Following the manual I attempt to do do either a Factory Reset or an OS Reinstall, However when I perform the following to access the boot menu we get an issue. Unplug the ReadyNAS as it will not turn off on its own. (or the power button) Insert paperclip and press the "Reset" button on the back Plug the ReadyNAS back in Hit the power button Wait for everything to illuminate (as per Step 4 of the Manual) ...Except it never does, no matter how long I hold just the rest button. It does not seem to go into the Boot menu What happens iwhile holding the reset; The power button constantly flashes, and every 10 seconds or so the other (act, Disk1 and Disk 2) lights illuminate momentarily. I have tired to relase the reset button at this point in hopes it would stay in the boot menu, but they all turn off when I remove the paperclip from the reset button. If I try to use the "Backup" button to navigate the menu of the Boot Option nothing happens. No configuration of HDD seem to matter. I have tried, only 1 HDD in a bay at at time, both bays filled. and both bays empty. Thanks in advance.SolvedReadyNas NV+ v2 stuck on boot menu (RND4000-200AJS)
I've been using my NAS for 3 years now and it's been great. Rarely an issue and only had to reboot a few times (when drive got full) Today, however, it has decided to die. When I went to use it, the screen on the front of the NAS was blank and I could not power down, so I pulled the plug and pushed it back in. On start-up, the screen went straight to the 'Boot Menu' and stayed that way. I have tried to hold down the reset button and scroll through the options, but it will not move from 'Normal' and I cannot even make it boot up at all. It appears to be stuck on Boot menu. I have tried removing drives (I have 4x WD. 2x 3TB, 1x 1.5TB and 1 2TB) but to no avail. Having searched high and low for answers, I am desperate now. Can I either, reset the firmware to allow me to boot again, or if the box is truly bricked, how do I recover my data? Thanks, MickSolved5KViews0likes8Comments
