5 TopicsAT&T Uverse Pace 5268AC in DMZ+ With Orbi ... help please
So I've been struggling with this for about two weeks now. I want to be able to use Orbi as my router with my ATT suplied Pace box because the Pace doesn't support UPnp or NAT lookup (or so people say) . I run a plex media server out of my house and need to be able to access it which didn't work just trying to use the supplied gateway and putting my orbi in AP mode. Also I like to use Nvidia shield streaming to connect to my gaming PC from outside of my house and I also can't do that with orbi in AP mode and using the supplied Pace gateway in none DMZ+ mode. So here's where I'm at: For the most part serfing the internet seems to work Sometimes it seems like web pages can't resolve connections but If i hit the refresh button a couple of times it will load the web page Plex seems to work outside of my house which is good Nvidia streaming DOESN'T work outside of my house even though I've forwarded the correct ports My roku specifically (I have two of them that have the same issue) seems to have a horrible time connecting to any channel both wired or streaming. I think it's having a hard time connecting to the roku servers in order to load a specific channel. Here's how I have things set up: Turned off the wifi on the Pace gateway Turned on DMZ+ mode for my orbi that's hooked to the first ethernet port on my Pace Gateway Public IP address is being passed to my Orbi router Orbi router is on the same subnet mask but a different IP range (10.0.0.x) and the Pace is on (192.168.1.x) Orbi router is set to DHCP mode updated the orbi firmware to the latest I'm really struggling here. There are a lot of really advanced settings on the Orbi that I think might be causing some issues but I don't know what they do even after googling and I'm not sure where I'm gong wrong. Can someone please save my life here. The thing that's most concering to me is that it seems to have issues making some connections at all (like my roku) this isn't just Orbi btw. I have done this exact same setup with an airport extreme and I had the exact same issue. Can Orbi configured to act as wireless bridge
I have a RBR50 with the RBS50 setup. The Router creates a wifi network and is conected to a switch which in turn is connected to the internet gateway. The satellite is rather far away and in turn connected to a switch as well which connects my office hardware via ethernet (aside from creating / extending the RBR's wifi network). Question: I dont need the wifi network / RBR & RBS acting as wireless APs. The only thing I need is the Orbi's feature to powerfully bridge space where there is no chance to have a wired / ethernet connection (the backhaul is just great). 1/ Is there any way to configure the RBR / RBS so that a simple wireless bride is built that connects my remote office switch to the IPS / the gateway-attached switch (if possible without creating a wifi network i.e disabling the access point functionality of the Orbis)? I have not found anything like this in the config shell. 2/ If yes: where do I find the settings / what needs to be done? 3/ if no: Any thoughts around workarounds (or do I have to stick to the APs turned on)?Orbi config in AP/Bridge arrangement
Hi, I picked up a 3 unit Orbi from Costco yesterday, and pluged it all in and it worked perfectly without any configuration. But I cant seem to get into a configuration mode where I can change the SSID. I did not plug anything into the "internet" jack, I pluged my wired network into the switch on the "router" and turned on the other units and used its wifi backbone to connect other wired devices. Worked great! But without anything pluged into the "internet" jack, I don't seem to be able to get to a configuration screen of any kind. Both the AP and the orbilogin.com tells me I'm not connected to the internet, even though when I use the default ORBI SSID, I can browse the internet just fine. I do not want to use the ORBI for my router firewall...I have one of those, I just want to use it like I am, but I want to change the SSID! any ideas? Do I actually need to use the orbi for the "firewall" to initially get into the config? Thanks! --KeithNetgear Orbi RBK40 bridging in a Macbook
Hi all, I've a new Orbi RBK40 which is 3 months old but somehow not able to get phone support so I'm asking here. I've set up an Ethernet bridge in my Macbook (under settings, network, make a new bridge) and have connected my Internet router by Ethernet cable to the Macbook successfully. I now want to add the Orbi RBK40 to the Macbook via another Ethernet cable and get it connected to the bridge. Unfortunately the light shows purple and not white meaning it's not working as expected. Wifi from the Orbi doesn't work. Can the Orbi join a bridged network? If so how? I don't want to connect the router to the Orbi and Orbi to the Macbook. This was my old setup and setting it this way works fine. I'm trying to force the Orbi and router to be on the same subnet in the bridge I setup in the Macbook. Any suggestions? Thanks Cheers, KinSolvedConnecting Seagate PersonalCloud to Orbi RBK30
Hi, I have a Seagate 3TB Personal Cloud that I'm trying to connect (wired, no wifi) to my Orbi router. However, it's not showing up on my network. VLAN/Bridge group is enabled due to my ISP's settings. Any ideas on how I can get the PersonalCloud device to connect? TIA.
