The installation seems satisfactory (blue lights for WEP, power and router link), but I can not connect devices to the extended network. I have a Roku stick, Kindle Fire 10, and iPhone7 that I would like to use in the area of low signal. They show the 5Ghz channel in their options but when I select it, neither of the connection lights on the extender come on at all.1KViews0likes1CommentCan I use my 5ghz channel over the extender?
My Netgear 6100 router has 2.5 and 5 ghz channels. I'm using a WN3000 rpv3 extender to reach a difficult area. My current setup sends only the 2.5 ghz channel to the remote area. Can I "attach" the extender to the 5 ghz channel, or is that beyond its capability? How do I make that change in the router or the extender (if I can)?3.8KViews0likes1CommentR7900 5G-2 Band Drops Speed from 200mbps to 2mbps
Hi. Over the past week I've noticed the 5G-2 band on my R7900 will drastically drop speed for no noticeable reason. Last week I change the broadcast channel from 149 to 161, which I thought was the source of the issue. Router did a soft reset after applying new channel setting and speeds went back to normal. Fast forward a week and the same drop in speed happened again. This time I just did a soft reset and left the channel the same. Speed went right back to normal after reset. 2.4G and 5G-1 bands are never impacted when the 5G-2 band is having these issues. I've tested the speeds with multiple devices ~1 foot away from the router. I'm using latest firmware (V1.0.1.4_10.0.12). Any suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.Solved5.9KViews0likes11Commentsex7300 router to extender connect
This extender is working well, but I am wondering what is best configuration to use, what are the pros/cons, of router:extender and extender:client. Use both 2.4 and 5 Ghz for both: Use 2.4 from router and 5 to client; or use 5 from router and then 2.4 to client? Thanks DCForce 5ghz Channels
I'm having a problem with one iphone 6 which has a damaged wifi. I would like to try and force the phone to use only the 5ghz frequency if possible to test if just a particular antenna is bad in the phone. So, since I don't see any clear ways to set my router to only use the 5ghz frequency, can someone guide me in setting it up? I only have iphones connecting to the wifi which all have 802.11ac capabilites, so I should be able to force it onto one frequency or another. As you can see from the clip below, it is running at 2.462 frequency. I've unchecked ' Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence' already, and Channel 11 is clear in my area. Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated. Is this router even capable of running only 5ghz frequency, or do I need to buy a 802.11ac wifi router? This is just for testing, so I'd prefer not to have to purchase a new router if I can avoid it. Hey Guys, I have bought a Linksys RE6400 Extender and I discover that it cannot connect on my router over others channels than 36-48. It is a problem for me because the channels 36-48 are stupidly over used in my street. And I will not speak about the 2,4 Ghz channels ;-) Now, I'm looking on Netgear side. Is the EX6150 able to connect over 5 Ghz channels others that 36-48 ? Like 52-64 or over the 100 ? Thanks for your time,Solved5.3KViews0likes5Comments
